Updated MLPlaneswalker Timeline · 5:41am Jul 26th, 2018
With my MLPlaneswalker series having turned into my own passion project, I’ve decided to more fully flesh out some of the series chronology. I’ve retconned some of the rough dates shown in flashback in Shadows Over Equestria, Part 1 to be more consistent with this new vision. The dates used are in Magic: the Gathering lore’s Argivian Reckoning calendar.
Right now, the general timeline looks something like this:
- A.R. 3350: The first Hearth’s Warming occurs. The Equestrian Confederation is founded, a polity composed of a union of three states: Canterlot, the Earthen Territories, and Fort Cloudsdale.
- A.R. 3365: The Unicorn King dies, and Platinum inherits the throne as the monarch of Canterlot.
- A.R. 3366: Queen Platinum, at the behest of Lord Advisor Rimewind, retitles herself Empress Platinum.
- A.R. 3367: Time Turner, apprentice to the famed clockmaker Master Aeon, disappears under mysterious circumstances. Five years later, he returns with no explanation.
- A.R. 3377: After saving a village from an attack by a fire elemental, Star Swirl takes an orphaned foal named Stygian under his tutelage. At Stygian’s suggestion, he forms a group of heroes known as the Pillars of Old Equestria.
- A.R. 3378: The events of Never Too Clever take place.
- A.R. 3380: The Equestrian Confederation splinters into its three component states as a result of rising political tensions. Clover the Clever vanishes under unknown circumstances.
- A.R. 3384: The demonic necromancer Lord Grogar is resurrected, dragging vast swaths of Equestria into Tambelon, the deepest circle of Tartarus. Grogar is defeated by the efforts of the young earth fillies, Celestia and Luna.
- A.R. 3385: The three tribes are reunited under the Royal Sisters, who are now famously known as the first alicorns. The modern Principality of Equestria is established.
- A.R. 3389: Stygian is narrowly prevented by Time Turner from embracing a demonic power. By Star Swirl’s own observations, Stygian appears to cease aging, possibly as a result of having come so close to dark magic.
- A.R. 3395: Star Swirl dies.
- A.R. 4566: The events of My Little Planeswalker: Twilight’s Spark take place.
I do love me an informative timeline
Hmm. An unaging, uncorrupted Stygian? It'll be very interesting to see what you do with him.
