I'm Writing a New (Non-Pony) Crossover Fic · 2:19pm Jul 29th, 2022
Over the past couple weeks I’ve been beginning work on a fic concept that I’ve had for a while, involving a crossover between two bug-related video games that I quite enjoy:

Don’t worry though, I still do plan on continuing the My Little Planeswalker saga... eventually. 
Huh. Interesting. I really need to get back to Bug Fables; I stopped playing when JoyCon drift made the platforming nigh impossible.
Still, more Zenniwords are always welcome, and a Dark Souls/Paper Mario crossover sounds delightful.

I’ve been replaying through it on my Steam Deck, it’s a wonderful experience overall (despite some slight jank with Vi’s boomerang controls on the overworld). It’s a worthy successor to Paper Mario: TTYD, which is still my favorite game of all time.
I’d recommend at least being familiar with the story of Bug Fables since my fic delves pretty deep into spoiler territory for it and Hollow Knight

Seriously though, I love the game so much. One pretty big part of that is how for the bounty bosses, and even some of the regular ones, you actually NEED to have a strategy going in. You can't just spam attacks and specials. And the Superboss they added for when you complete all the bounties? OOF. Actually made me grind to get MULTIPLE of the Full HP/MP restoring items, and even then it was close.
Also the card minigame is absolutely amazing for a side mode.
