Wowzers, I never thought we’d get there after the manic July I’ve just had, but we made it; chapter nine is online!
And eesh, what a chapter it is. With spoilers, it introduces characters, some of whom proving these folks really are raiders and not just slumming scavvies. We find out who the sinister singing Minstrels are and what their purpose is in the Stable. Oh, and Mole does a few more cute things! Always good.
Apologies, however, for how long it took for this chapter to be written. In-between writing this I've had work, a holiday with family, more work, a music festival, a friend's birthday, my BROTHER's birthday, and a lot of incidents. It's been a bumpy July, and I think that's why this chapter ended with a bloody mess.
I'll get a sort rest before seeing where our bunch of 'orrible rotters end up next. I mean, Crusty can't be that nasty to them, can he...?
Here’s a few of my favourite lines from Chapter Nine;
”To me, it was like staring at a statue above an old and overgrown grave, they only difference was that this one had a pleasant singing voice.”
“Started: The Seven Day Rule.
Sing your ascension song in Stable T30!”
“You’re up, sponsor. Tell me this isn’t a bomb that’s going to blow us all to smithereens if I don’t sing you all a pretty damn song.”
“Hot Shot,” He said in a rather bland tone at me. I blinked at him.
“Same to you-“
“No, it’s my name!”
“Um, that’s my big sister. One of them,” mumbled Mole, swallowing hard, “Dr. Maud Candy, named after our great great gre-“
“Molasses!” warned Maud.
“-Great-great-grandmother,” finished Mole, only loud enough for me to hear.
“Is she going to hit me? She’s going to hit me. This is going to hurt,”
And of course;
“Not bad. Sweetie Belle had a bit more of an irritating squeak but with practice you’ll get there,” Elm informed the actress as he passed, and only I looked back to see the fume she gave him before we were fully inside the next part of the museum.
