Afternoon everyone
Some of you kinda called me out on the resolution, and that was in part why I wanted to release this all as one chapter. Of course they all out rank him, of course Rainbow is owned by Celestia, so of course she's not going anywhere. The thing you probably didn't see coming is where she gets her powers from, so I hope that caught you by surprise. Were this her story, I totally would've set it up to have Dash's dad being the antagonist chasing after his daughter in an effort to bring her around. I kinda wish I'd set that up because that would've made for a more dramatic story, but then them moving to Manehattan too makes for an even more odd coincidence than just the mane 6 all ending up there. I've always felt that 'it must be fate' is a kinda lazy justification, or that 'the magic of friendship' draws them together so I made sure that everypony ended up in the same place more by circumstance than anything else.
AJ: Dad lost his job, moves in with his brother, his brother lives in Manehattan. check
Twi: kidnapped [spoilers] trapped in castle. check
Pink: runs away from home, [spoilers] she ends up here. check
Flut: School shooting, parents elect to move to, runs away in fear of her powers. check
Rarity: Parents split, Dad moves closer to work, Rarity kicks her dad out. check
Dash: Falls from Cloudsdale while it's near by, can't return, loses her memories. check
I suppose I probably could have said that him realizing dash was the crow could have been a solid justification for them being there, but he only just got solid proof with the fight on the 21st with Israfel where her tail slipped out of her costume. In story time, that was only nine days ago, so there's no way they could've moved that fast.
The second [spoilers] should get cleared up between now and the end of this little set of stories before the next big fight and the last one... well, you know. So! On to the pink horse. I'm taking a break next week and with any luck I'll have a job by then.
