Future of Stories Going Forward · 1:30am Jun 15th, 2018
Okay, let me start with an apology for what I am going to do. I don't want to disappoint people, especially readers of my work, but I just can't go on like this any longer.
I am putting many of my stories on hiatus as of today so that I can focus what little energy I have on finishing at least some. I started writing nearly five years ago, back when I was younger and wasn't tired all the time, but a lot has changed since then. I can't write hours into the night anymore; I can barely manage half of one anymore before I start to feel drained.
Because of this, if I continue to spread my efforts across multiple stories, I won't finish any of them within the decade, if at all, and so, I've decided to restrict myself to two at a time, going from most popular to least. This way I can satisfy as many readers as possible, though I still feel bad for those who wish to see my less popular works continued.
The stories I will be focusing on first are Gilded Sister and Floored.
When I finish one of them, I will move onto Tale of Two Dragons, then to Family is Who You Love.
I really do apologize; one of my biggest regrets is starting so many. I shouldn't have let my whims control me, and you all are the ones who have to deal with the disappointment. Truly, I am sorry, but I can't stretch myself any thinner or else I'll snap.
not a problem, takes as much time as you need my friend! i fully understand.
Sounds good, you should not put undue stress on yourself.
Thank you for the stories, and will continue to read as long ad your writing.
We understand.
and thank you for marking stories that are on hiatus.
Trying to divide yourself across a lot of projects is exhausting and a good way to burn yourself out and suck out all the joy from writing.
We understand good, don't worry we gottcha!
Completely understandable.
I think we all understand, I can wait on Tale of Two as I need to catch up anyway. I'm sad to say I can't read Floored, it looked amazing but then I read, um, 2nd person and I just can't. It's nothing against your writing as you're an amazing writer, but I can't read 2nd person and not feel odd like it's immersion breaking.
Fair enough
You do you. We’ll be here thankful for you Work.
No worries KoB. Don't spread yourself thin trying to keep up with too many stories at once. That's any easy way to burn out and take any joy of writing out of you. Personally, I'm enjoying all your stories and knowing they'll be seen to eventually leaves me without disappointment. I look forward to each new chapter when they're ready.
Good on you, author. This will actually give me some time to browse your other stories, as I've only read one so far.
I have to agree with everyone here there's no sense juggling a dozen stories if you hate writing after. Take your time and enjoy your writing hopefully as much as I and everyone else enjoy reading them. Keep up the amazing work as long as your writing I'm not going anywhere :)
