    Story update and other stuff

Believe it or not I've actually started a new job at long last. I'd only planned on staying with my last employer six months, but ended up being stuck there for nearly five years. During my time there I had to put up with some of the worst bigotry I've ever encountered, despite the company claiming to be 'inclusive, supportive of diversity, etc'. Spoiler alert : They weren't!

Seems to be coming along well. 365 pages at 192,769 words.

    We'll get there.

    Story Update

Now on page 280 of Bon Bon's story. Looking good so far, but quite a technical challenge as she's been involved in other parts of the Fairlight story arc and I need to be careful tying it all together. I'm also aware that I will need to incorporate Lyra's story into it too.

    Continuing on

Despite one of the readers claiming that they had felt like vomiting after reading my last story, I have pressed on with my scribblings. Apparently eliciting a physical and -or- an emotional response from a story is considered a good thing. Or so I'm told.

Re-writing! · 8:04am Jun 11th, 2018

Hi All,

For those of you who have been following the Fairlight stories you may have noticed how the latest one, The fortress of the four winds, is a lot longer than the original. I hadn't realised it until this morning, but it's actually 25% longer (About 50k words) thus far and I'm less than halfway through the re-write! You may be asking if the story has changed at all, and the simple answer is 'no'. What I found when I read it through was that the storyline was fine, yet it was missing a lot of detail, or 'fleshing out' as some call it. There's a lot more character building here now, with greater explanations regarding the political situation during Maroc's time and so on. Personally I'm really enjoying doing this, however it is a long, long job so please be patient.

Speaking of which, I'm hoping to start a new paid job soon which is good news. Naturally this will interfere with the time I have to write, but not too much I'm hoping. At the minute I'm spending untold hours doing this, and as much as I would quite happily sit here all day, everyday, typing until my little poor fingers drop off, the real world waits for nopony.

In the meantime, I hope you are all enjoying the story. Don't forget to leave a comment if you fancy, or click that bloody awful 'thumbs up' thing if you feel so inclined. Believe it or not, it does provide a level of motivation!

Toodles,

Taxi driver?

As long as you enjoy or at least tolerate it thats all that matters.

I just started my own new job today so can guess you wont know if you like it or not until a while into it.

I think 'tolerate' is the operative word! Still, it's only a means to an end. As soon as I get a decent reference it's adios amigo to taxiing and then, hopefully, hello to a better career.

Hope all work out for your new job. Let me know how it goes.
