My Thoughts on The Mean Six(s8e13) · 5:34pm Jun 9th, 2018
Woah nelly, guys. Crazy stuff. Check below for my somewhat spoilery thoughts.
So, long story short, Chrysalis makes duplicates of the mane 6 to try and overpower the real mane 6, but the duplicates are a bunch of douche-canoes. Pretty standard stuff.
Not that that's over, let's get down to why I appreciated this episode.
There are a lot of funny moments to be had. Duplicate Rarity was insane, duplicate Fluttershy was an adorable beeyatch, and duplicate Twilight would actually make a great villain. They way they acted and handled their business was a joy to behold, just sayin'.
The real value of this episode, however, comes from the real mane 6 cast. Why? Because the duplicates made their lives hell and turned them against each other. But, the real mane 6 were actually able to work out their differences without ever finding out about the duplicates! In other words, they all had a bad day, hurt each other's feelers and were able to get over it and communicate like adults. I loved it and thought it spoke volumes.
Also, Chrysalis is always cool. Her strategy sucks as always, but hey, nobody's perfect. I won't say what happens with her, but I'm satisfied.
Now... we just wait until fall for the second half of the season. Blargh.

My rule still stands that cloning is bad and someone taking DNA from you is obviously a bad sign. XD
Anytime they collect hair, keep your eyes on them. (I’m surprised the others didn’t figure it happened.)

If they had noticed it would have defeated the episode. We can't have our heroes notice anything till the end (even if they never really noticed at all) because we need an episode. Yes I know they never knew Chrysalis or even the clones were there and just randomly started acting mean to each other (Honestly these ponies are stupid sometimes) but my point still stands!

It just makes me laugh that someone can come in, flash a few photos, steal hair from everyone, and buzz off in less than a minute, and nobody will think otherwise. But I can understand it XD

Maybe they thought the photographer was being a lewd weirdo and shrugged it off. I mean we all have weird hobbies. Maybe they "hired" a weirdo and figured that she wanted photos for lewd purposes. Or maybe they did notice, but shrugged it off used to Pinkie's antics!

I’d understand if this was some fan coming by and getting photos for them and hair then because a lot of ponies have their weird hobbies and more.
I could even understand them not noticing how out of character their copies were and not noticing how faded they were compared to the originals. Lol
But above all, I’m surprised no pony ran into their copy in their own. Like how Mean Twilight ran in one direction in front of Pinkie and Fluttershy, and a second later the real one shows up, apparently out of earshot and sight. XD

Wouldn't that be some kinda paradox or something. My familiarity on the subject of paradoxes is admittedly shaky and borderline non-existent, but I keep assuming that meeting your double is bad. Is this only Time Travel paradoxes or is there some kinda taboo about just stumbling upon your double regardless of Time Travel!

But I REALLY respect how they were able to pace this episode as well as they did with as much stuff that was going on every second. That's not easy to do. Let alone in 21 minutes.

Are paradoxes only related to Time Travel tomfoolery because there are a lot of Alternate History debates I have heard and seen thrown around. The biggest ones regard if it was a good idea to assassinate Hitler. Most of what I know is based on assumption or just random chance. Maybe not by time travel but I feel like it is a similar family. I haven't read a lot of science fiction as a kid (outside of the Dragon Riders of Pern novels) and my knowledge is lacking!
