The Battlefront II Drama Continues · 1:26pm May 15th, 2018

Unbelievably, a Battlefront II developer retweeted this. Someone who either didn't learn from the shitstorm the "armchair developer" comment stirred up at launch, or embraces it wholly and believes we are unworthy of giving criticism.

I don't need to be an electrician to know my power is out. I don't need to be a chef to know when food doesn't taste right.

And we certainly don't need to be game developers to critique your game development or your laughably pathetic post-launch support. You are NOT above the feedback of your players, you pretentious sack of shit.

Were this any other audience, you might have a point. But gamers gave up the benefit of the doubt when they started lacing their feedback with death threats and linked up with the neo-Nazis. They can now be safely ignored.

That implys that neo-nazis want to be associated with gamers.

Wanna name some of those "neo-Nazis"?
If the likes of Sargon are on that list I might just die of laughter.

He does know that people that make fun of their consumers like this have failed and gone bankrupt because no one wanted to buy their games, right?

These are pretty mild comments. I've seen lots of non-bankrupt game-related folks say worse.

Of course they do. By themselves, they're a fringe political movement. But with the millions of gamers, they are a mass political movement. There is a certain type of political extremist who finds virtue in permanent marginalization, but most want power, and the road to power winds through mass support.

I’m just going to assume you’re referring to the alt-right, which a can of worms I really don’t feel like getting into right now. But just being pro-nationalism does not make some one a neo-nazi. Also, why did you take my comment seriously?

YOU and other pretentious and preachy authoritarian asshats who are just the other end of the horseshoe are the ones linking gamers to neonazis.

Funny how gamers, comicbook readers and tabletop gamers just want RL politics to be left outside their favorite hobby and people to make good and entertaining stuff. But there is always people like you standing by the sidelines shouting "MUH NAZIS EVERYWHERE!"

If the Alt-right or whoever is scoring brownie ponites with peopel, it is because of fools like you DRIVING PEOPLE TOWARDS THEM.

If people like you didnt exist, the alt right as it is now wouldnt exist and Richard Spencer would still be a nobody instead of making money going around giving speeches about meme's and (rightfully) pointing out how oppressive the other side acts towards those like him.

We also live in an era of super-talented indie developers, and Sonia Mania and AM2R have shown us that romhackers and indie developers can make a game for a franchise that is just as good, if not better, than the company that owns the franchise. So any game developer who talks shit about their critics should be prepared to be outdone by the very fans they're supposed to be catering to.

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say you believe the “Gamergate is bad” schlock pretentious elitists spout because they told you to, correct?

Bet if a big green floating head told you to “ignore the man behind the curtain” you’d do that too.
