    Avengers: Endgame

So this is long overdue, and I was planning on updating some of my stories last month to celebrate it but...

Endgame was something else. Holy. I cried. I actually, legitimately cried at the ending, and I can count on one hand how many movies have made me tear up, much less cry. Both times I've watched it, both times I've cried, and I'm sure I'll cry the next time I watch it as well.

    Avengers: Infinity War

    Well. That was something.

And by something, I mean a heart-wrenching movie that promises us everything and then kills of two of the most beloved characters known to Thor in the first ten minutes.

Oh right. Forgot. SPOILERS A-FRIGGIN-HEAD, BIATCH.

Now that that’s out of the way, we may continue.

Avengers: Infinity War · 8:52pm Apr 28th, 2018

Avengers: Infinity War was a movie I was hyped up to see ever since watching Black Panther (which is absolutely amazing BTW). A movie that people knew what they were walking into, knew people were gonna die, and knew that it would end disastrously. And yet, here I am, ranting a little.

The movie starts us off with an overview of the destruction of Thor’s ship, last seen in the post-credits scene of Thor: Ragnarok. And then we see that Hulk gets beaten, Heimdall sends him to Earth, Heimdall dies, Loki attempts another ploy, and he dies with the snap of his neck. Were these deaths necessary? Sure. It certainly helped give Thor a boost. Sure, it helped move the plot.

But in the first ten minutes? REALLY!? Okay, so maybe I didn’t actually time it and don’t know if it was in the first ten minutes, but holy mother of all that is good, you just had to do it. Maybe I should just let it slide. Maybe, since I knew Thanos was going to be there, sure, I could’ve accepted it. But I can’t. And another thing is, where’s the context for the destruction of the ship? The only hint we got at all for what happened is when Thanos’ ship appeared in the post-credits scene of Ragnarok…

BUT PEOPLE STILL DON’T STAY FOR THAT. WHY.

Skipping forward, I definitely approve of how they handled the guy who was torturing Dr Strange. Blew a hole in the ship, sucked the bad guy out, sealed it up, Alien-style! Whoopee! And then they land on Titan, where they stay for the remainder of the movie. That’s basically it. They then encounter the other half of the Guardians, who then concoct a plan. A plan that would’ve worked, if STAR LORD HADN’T PUNCHED THANOS AND MADE MANTIS LOSE HER GRIP.

Spidey was literally this!!! close to taking it off! And then Dr. Strange finally had the heart to— well, have a heart, and spare Tony from completely dying. Why? Only t serve the plot and give Thanos an infinity stone? Even Tony asked Strange why he did it. And all we get is a “We’re in the end game now” before he disappears into nothing.

Oh, and have you noticed? ALL PHASE 2-3 HEROES DIED WHILE THE ORIGINAL AVENGERS LIVED.

Bucky dies. Sam dies. T’challa dies. Spidey dies. Strange dies. Wanda dies. Loki and Heimdall (okay, maybe not Avengers or phase 2/3 heroes but you get what I mean!) die. All the Guardians die (save Nebula and Rocket). Nick Fury and Maria Hill die in the end.

And Vision?

Well. I knew that since Thanos had the time stone, as soon as the mind stone broke, I just shook my head in disbelief. Because I knew what was coming. So yeah, Vision? Vision dies. Vision dies twice. Twice. First time, completely obliterated. Second time? There’s a fricking corpse. W h y.

But then there’s Thanos, who sits and looks at a sunset. Fine. And then it cuts it off right there. And then there’s only one post-credits scene. Fury and Hill die, signalling Captain Marvel. Okay.

Why did you have to make us feel for the villain, Marvel? W h y. Gamora, why? Why’d Gamora have to die like she did? It made sense, yes, but you also made us feel for Thanos! That’s not alright. Not alright at all. But I suppose we felt more for the impending death of Gamora then we did Thanos. Isn’t that right?

But it was a very fun movie. Very nice. Very very nice.

I cried.

Nebula better f:yay:king steal the gauntlet from Thanos in the next Avengers and reverse everything. And whatever Captain Marvel has to do with the next movie, it better be friggin amazing because I expect nothing less. Why the heck else would you show her being called by Fury?

Well, at least it was nice and enjoyable. A lot of comedy you could get behind. And at least they balanced where the humour was, obviously refraining from adding it to especially-serious moments. I liked a lot of things about the movie, don’t get me wrong, but there’s just so much I could go on and on about.

Like the Marvel Disposable Villains™. The sons and daughters of Thanos? Sure, they were able to put up a fight for a bit, but then they all died in a matter of seconds when up against two or more Avengers. Yay. Great.

And Shuri! Why did she only get, like, two minutes of screen time? Not even! Probably less than a minute! Shuri is awesome! Why?

Okay. If I rant anymore, I’ll probably die. There’s a million more things I could say about Infinity War, but I don’t feel like saying them. Not right now at least.

Oh, and sorry for the hiatus. I’ve been working on other things, along with getting back into playing on my xbox. Go figure. I’m really, really sorry. I also had diplomas to do, and schoolwork is just a living hell. Expect a Strange update soon, though. I hope. I’m over 2k words into the chapter, so I can still release it if you’re all that anxious. Apart from that, adieu, and have a good day!

Saw infinity war on thursday, loved every second of it. Well as far as dr. strange giving up the time stone, there is 1 explanation. He said he checked about 14 million possible outcomes, and they only won in 1. Likely reason, it was the only way to bring about said outcome. Just a thought.

I’m over 2k words into the chapter, so I can still release it if you’re all that anxious.

FTFY

Release it whenever you feel like it's ready. Don't let user demand influence quality writing. I've witnessed longer hiatus'. We can wait.

I am pretty sure that he has a plan that works even after his death.
I can´t wait to see it next year.

I think my only real complaint with the movie was Thanos' motivation. I'm not familiar with the comics so knew very little going in, and that caught me by surprise. He's basically an eco-terrorist of some sort? And really, unless his universe tweak of getting rid of half of all life has a lasting effect (i.e. something that KEEPS the population in check going forward) it probably wouldn't be that long until populations are back up in a lot of places. Certainly the general chaos and disruptions of 1/2 the population disappearing is going to keep things in check or even further reduce population for a while. It seems entirely likely that earth's population would rebound in the next 100 - 300 years. Probably the same on other planets. So it seems like a very short-sighted solution. Or maybe he expected to be immortal at this point and would just keep resetting things as needed?

Maybe someone more familiar with the comics and lore can clear this up for me.

Otherwise, great movie and looking forward to the next one!

Yes, there have been a lot of complaints over his plan not working and being stupid. I agree.
