A short, slice of life story. · 7:12pm Feb 14th, 2018

I don't really have a name for this, nor is it long enough to post as its own story on the site. However, I felt obligated to write something for my wonderful fiancee, KairiPancakes. Below is a short work, slice of life only, about two of her favorite ponies. I haven't watched the show in quite a while, nor have I written in a pretty minute. But for her, I'll do anything and everything.

Anyways, check it out below if you're interested!

“Hey, Big Mac?”

“Eeyup?”

“Do you love me?”

Big Mac smiled. A wider smile than anyone outside of his own family had ever seen. “Eeyup.”

He was a stallion of few words. Still, that didn’t bother Sugar Belle. She knew better than anypony that this was true love, and she wouldn’t trade Big Mac for any other pony. She snuggled up closer to him, the film they were watching having reached an intense moment. “So how come you picked this one?”

Her special somepony turned his head towards hers, giving her a peck on the snout, eliciting a giggle from the much smaller mare. “The lead reminds me of you.”

Sugar Belle’s nose scrunched up in confusion. “But… she’s a total kick butt, take names kinda mare. I’m just a baker.”

Big Mac sighed. Talking a lot wasn’t his thing, but he supposed he could do it. For her. “Ya both see what you want in life and take it. Some ponies may not respect that, but I admire a pony that’s willin’ to stand up for what she loves.”

“I had no idea you felt that way…” his marefriend mumbled, snuggling up a bit closer to him. “Do you ever feel like you’re not appreciated, honey bunny?”

Big Mac blushed at her nickname. “Sometimes. T’ain’t a big deal, though. Applejack bucks the trees, I collect all the apples. As long as the farm stays afloat, that’s all that matters.”

“It sounds to me like you really care about your family,” Sugar Belle said, tiny smile ever present on her face. “They’re a pretty wonderful group of ponies.”

“Eeyup.”

Sugar Belle giggled. She had never felt so at home just talking with somepony else. But Big Mac was different. Some stallions bragged. Some were shy. Some were as beautiful as Celestia’s own Sun. Yet Big Mac towered above them all where it mattered most: Heart.

“I love you, Big Mac.”

“Love you too, hun,” he replied, turning his attention back to the film. It had reached its climax, and the heroine was currently fighting for her life aboard a wayward spaceship, vying for a spot on the last remaining escape pod. He smiled. “This is my favorite part.”

“What’s the lead mare’s name again?” Sugar Belle asked. She wasn’t as big a fan of films as Big Mac was, something she had found surprising about him to begin with.

“Ellen Clopley.”

“So she’s trying to escape the ship because there’s an alien on board?”

“Eeyup. But she’s gotta go back.”

“Huh? Why would she possibly want to go back?” Sugar Belle prodded. “There’s an alien!”

Big Mac chuckled. “She’s gotta get her kitty. You know how ponies with pets are.”

“Would you go back for Winona?”

“Every single time,” Big Mac answered immediately.

“Then you’re a braver pony than I am,” Sugar Belle laughed. “Hay, I’d probably be the first one to get killed.”

They both laughed at that. A few minutes later, the film was over, and Sugar was laying on her back, her head in Big Mac’s lap. She stared right up at him, smiling the entire time. “You know, I don’t think there’s any place I’d rather be than right here with you.”

“Eeyup.”

“I feel like my worries are just melting away, and I’m in bliss.”

“Eeyup.”

Sugar Belle giggled again. “You’re so cute, you know that?”

“Ee— Huh?”

“That whole ‘eeyup’ thing you do is just adorable,” she reiterated. “It really makes me love you even more.”

“E—Eeyup,” Big Mac blushed. “I love you, too.”

“What do you like about me?”

“What don’t I like about you?” Big Mac chuckled. “I love everything. Your smile, your cute mane-do, your pies,” he finished, his eyes lighting up with hearts at the thought of one of her perfectly baked confections.

“And now you get to have pie every day,” she smirked. “Oh, Celestia, you’re gonna get so fat.”

It's not my best work, but I hope you liked it, Micah. Happy Valentine's Day <3
