Jack and Sunshine - First Lullaby · 9:32pm Jan 31st, 2018
A small preview of scenes that I'm working on involving Jack, Sunset, and their first child, Sunshine Nova
“Waaaaaaa! Waaaaaa! Waaaaaa!”
Sunset let out a sigh that was muffled by the pillow she was laying on, and muttered, “I’ll go get her now, Jack…”
However, as she slowly began to get out of bed, Jack gently pushed her back down, with a warm smile on his face. “No, no, love, you catch up on your sleep. I’ll take care of her.”
“But…” The sleepy teenager let out a yawn, which made Jack smirk at her. “Honey, it’s two in the morning… and every night, you-”
“I know, love, but I also don’t even go to sleep until probably five,” reminded Sunset’s soon-to-be-husband, and he gave her a soft kiss before starting to get out of bed. “Go back to sleep, alright?”
At this point, Sunset was too tired to even say anything, so she simply smiled back at him, and went right back to sleep while Jack made his way over to the living room, where he saw their 1-month-old daughter lying down in her crib. “Waaaaaaa!”
“Shhhhhh, it’s okay, sweetheart, Daddy’s here, Daddy’s got you,” said Jack, speaking in a low voice as he carefully picked up his child, blanket and all, and walked over to sit on the couch. “You want your bottle?”
“Waaaaaaaa!”
He began to gently rock her back and forth. “I’ll take that as a no… and I don’t smell anything, so your diaper doesn’t need to be changed… what else could it be?”
The baby girl continued to cry, and Jack let out a sigh. “Come on, love, your mother needs to ger her beauty sleep… I know we gave you the name ‘Sunshine’, but that doesn’t necessarily mean you-”
“Waaaaaaaa! Wa-waaaaa!”
Continuing to rock her back and forth, Jack quickly started to think of all the possible options on how to solve this problem, and then, it was like a lightbulb had shined above his head after making a decision.
“Alright, Sunshine, I’m about to give you a small preview of the wonderful music that comes from the magical world of Disney,” said the young man, and with a free hand, he pulled out his phone to look up a certain instrumental video of a particular song that he felt would be perfect for right now.
Then, once the music began to play, Sunshine’s cries went down just a little bit, but it wasn’t really enough for Sunset to continue sleeping… that is, up until Jack started to sing the lyrics once the part for it had arrived.
Come stop your crying
It will be alright
Just take my hand
And hold it tight
After hearing the voice of her father sing softly to her, Sunshine’s cries turned into whimpering as she grabbed ahold of Jack’s right hand, with watery eyes and quivering lips.
I will protect you
From all around you
I will be here
Don't you cry
Sunshine’s head was now laying against her father’s chest while continuing to whimper, and Jack just continued on with the lullaby.
For one so small,
You seem so strong
My arms will hold you,
Keep you safe and warm
Then, Sunshine made an adorable cooing sound that brought a smile to her father’s face.
This bond between us
Can't be broken
I will be here
Don't you cry
As for Sunset, she was currently standing by the bedroom doorway, filled with feelings of love, proudness, and affection as she watched Jack sing to their daughter.
'Cause you'll be in my heart
Yes, you'll be in my heart
From this day on
Now and forever more
Sunshine’s eyes began to close up, and continued to make a few more cute baby sounds.
You'll be in my heart
No matter what they say
Then, once it looked like Sunshine was fast asleep, Jack quietly walked back over to her crib, and slowly lowered his daughter back inside.
“You'll be here in my heart… always…” He then kissed the top of her head. “Good night, love.”
After turning off his cellphone, Jack went back into the bedroom, and saw Sunset resting quietly in their bed, which he eventually climbed back into.
“Thank you, Jack,” whispered Sunset, once the young man was lying down, and went back to sleep while Jack continued to stay awake for a little more.
Beck: Congratulations, Jack. You have officially passed one of the infinite number of tests in the subject known as fatherhood.
Twinkle: You really chose right with him, Sunset.
Congrats man, I'm happy for you. :)
I wonder what Twilight thinks of this...
