You Choose the Next Sideboard Story! (SPOILERS, Obv.)

Sideboard Stories is one of my favorite writing projects currently, arguably even more so than the main My Little Planeswalker Series. I still absolutely love writing the main MLPlaneswalker stories, of course, but Sideboard Stories is unique in that it allows me to explore scenarios and character interactions that would have absolutely no way of appearing in anything else.

That said, with so many ideas floating around for future chapters, it’ll be tough to decide which ones to work on. So, I’m going to list a few general concepts for future chapters, and I’m going to let you pick which ones you’d like to see the most. Whichever one wins will be the one I work on next!

So, without further ado, here are the entries!

• Pinkie Pie receives an order for a cake by a group of mysterious hooded ponies. Suspicious of their odd behaviors, she learns that the cake is for an event called the “Great Revel,” and is baffled by the fact that there’s a really big party that she hasn’t heard about. As she investigates, she uncovers the existence of an apparent cult calling for the return of their leader, a being known only as “The Stranger King.”
• Tamiyo learns of the plane of Equestria through word of mouth, and comes to visit to study the magical properties of its moon. In Tamiyo’s dreams, Princess Luna learns that the Nightmare was far from the most horrifying thing to be sealed within a lunar prison.
• Dack Fayden, escaping from a botched heist, accidentally planeswalks to Ungula. There, he winds up in Klugetown, and after escaping an angry mob, ducks away into the house of Capper. After a brief scuffle, he winds up inadvertently wearing an artifact acquired by Capper through illicit means: the Amulet of Immortality, also known as the Yellow Alicorn Amulet. Like the three others, the Amulet of Immortality has a particularly nasty side effect, but unlike its Red and Blue counterparts cannot be removed willingly. Reluctantly, Dack teams up with his fellow thief in an attempt to find a way to remove the Amulet, before he befalls a fate far worse than death.
• Rainbow Dash flies into a raging storm to test her flying skill. There, she meets a strange black bird that, as she learns the hard way, is more than a match for even her most skilled aerial maneuvers.
• Nissa, Gideon, and Chandra visit Ungula, and visit the Crystal Empire at Twilight’s suggestion. There, the three meet new friends, and see for themselves why Princess Cadance is also known as the Princess of Matchmaking... and that sometimes there are numbers greater than two.

Hmm. Depending on the point in the timeline and how much you're including from the comics, Pinkie's had her own moment of going mad with divine power. And let's face it, she'd handle the title of "God of Revels" a lot more responsibly than Xenagos... probably.

I'm going to have to say the following order, though it's a very close race:

Pinkie Investigates!
Dash vs. the mightiest creature in Magic
Comparative Lunar Banishment
Nayashipping
Dack in Klugetown

Since me and someone else in the comments have discussed this before, I almost have to vote for the Eldrazi story.

So my order goes:

Luna learns of she who came too early.
Pinkie meets the hooded figures.
Naya Shipping (Building a Naya deck right now, so totally fits)
Dack in Klugetown
And Rainbow Dash meets a Meme.

Also I am sort of curious what Tamiyo’s Ungula form will be. A part of me wants Pegasus (The Moon folk live in the clouds) but the rest of me finds that answer boring and wonders if she will share Nissa's deer form, or will Zennistrad take the Moon folks rabbit like traits (inspired by the rabbit the Japanese see in the moon, and Princess Kaguya) and run with it.

I am not even sure how that would work....other then the fact that Fluttershy would go nuts over her.

Hmm. Depending on the point in the timeline and how much you're including from the comics, Pinkie's hadher own momentof going mad with divine power.

I try to keep references to the comics to a minimum, since not only do they tend to contradict the show’s canon, they sometimes even contradict each other. The most you’ll see is the occasional nod, like one of Twilight’s narrative thoughts mentioning that Star Swirl had another magic mirror.

Gotta vote for Tamiyo. Not a huge fan of how WOTC’s done the Naya ship and it’s sort o soured the idea for me. Now maybe a Vraska/Jace thing, or Vraska squaring off against Liliana? Hell yes.
