Solicitations for the IDW Sonic comics are slowly coming in. We know the first 4 issues involve Sonic teaming up with each of his friends: Tails, Knuckles, Amy and someone unknown and it involves them cleaning up the mess after a previous adventure.
Based on the solicits for issue 2, I think it's safe to guess which adventure just happened:
Sonic’s new adventure continues, and when he comes across another town in need of saving, his old pal Amy arrives just in time to join the fight! The banter is fun, and the stakes are high, but things get really serious when Amy presents Sonic with a big request: rejoin the Resistance!
So this story might be about Sonic trying to clean up the mess Eggman left after Forces and meeting up with his friends as he's wandering the world. Either that or the Resistance is secretly the Freedom Fighters with a new name and they want Sonic back on the team.

Still the fact it's following Forces is making me iffy
4783325 They'll probably only mention it passing by just saying Eggman made a bigger mess than usual. We're already getting stuff that makes it clear the comic is its own thing (Tangle, Rough and Tumble).
Plus it has Blaze. That already makes it good.
