    What is YOUR Definition...

    People often yak at me

    "Try better yourself"

    "Grow up"

    "Improve"

They say all that, but they don't provide actual definitions or explanations of what they mean by all that. It's like I'm supposed to guess what they want.

The same thing follows with fiction, when people whine and complain.

    "This sucks"

    "Write them In character"

Twilight Sparkle Improving Lives? (Friendship is Failure)

    People sure love to complain...

She always tries her best to get through to those with friendship problems and help them improve their lives, no matter how much they reject and act hostile towards her.

She gets disrespected a lot because she wants to help people, even though she's a princess who's saved Equestria on multiple occasions.

    Sentencing Characters (Dragnet Style)

What will it Change? (Trying means Nothing!)

In relation to my previous blog, https://www.fimfiction.net/blog/1035717/i-have-to-or-you-just-want-me-to which relates to "Are you doing it for ME or YOURSELF?"

People still get up my back saying I need to "Get Help" "Change my groove" or, and the most often said "Fix your writing-- make it better/different"

I HAVE to, or you just WANT me to?

People often go about saying... "You HAVE to move on." "You HAVE to let go." "You HAVE to Improve" "You HAVE to this" "You HAVE to that."

But here's the real deal to consider. Do I really HAVE to, or do you just WANT me to? That's the ideal.

My Inspiration: The Sound of Music · 9:43pm Nov 22nd, 2017

No, not THAT Sound of Music...

One thing that sometimes brings on my ideas to make fanfics is music, be they a soundtrack, a song, or even just a simple musical key note for a sound effect.

After all, songs are supposed to reflect the emotions, or add to the dramatics, or even get a a quick point across (The entertainment bit is the smallest part of the pie) I don't really listen to songs to be entertained, I do them to get ideas for fics, and maybe use them to blow off steam as I picture scenes.

(there's going to be A LOT OF VIDS... I want to make my point as clear as I can, and yet these are barely the tips of the spear)

For a final battle...

The music as well as the battle in this next one is my absolute favorite!

(At the start)

Beast Boy confronts the Ttians, the ponies, heck why not half the people in J.C and it's a battle like that. So incredbily ANGRY... so HATEFUL... and so deadly.

And then there's... (2:36)

The battle seems to be a draw; everyone is hurt, the city in ruins with fires everywhere, and even the villain is weak and outraged. It's perfect! I couldn't ask for a better battle inspiration anywhere!

Whew... that felt good.

Then there's chase music for those old getaway scenes... not like the james bond scenes, but rather music that just makes me feel like running (When I go on my walks in the warm weather) or when I want to picture someone being chased by people he wants to get away from...

Like Beast Boy fleeing from the Titans not wanting to reconcile with them...

-Cranky Doodle wanting to get away from Pinkie

-Or someone just running up the path or the fields with an angry expression.

(0:11) babyish, but the same to me

(15:50-17:00)

and

(18:23-18:56) I picture Lightning Dawn in the first Starfleet Humans, on his way to school-- running super fast, leaping along buildings, and getting there just in time before the bell rings.

Then there are just simple intros/outros alone that I find cool, and sometimes I imagine them like Twilight meet crossover characters in the fic and she wonders... "Who are you?" and if she asks other stuff like what kind of heroes they are, or what enemies those were, or even what they are like... these intros are like calling cards.

Who are we? I'll tell you...

(this one's one of my favorites, and also helps with Running scenes or jogging)

(0:17-0:50)

(One more for the road)

Let's do one more segment, one of my preferred, a dark and somber or lonely guy, Like Beast boy when I write him feeling dejected by the Titans and Terra and he feels so alone or is just wandering alone by himself.

(Absolute favorite) I picture him sitting in a dark crystal-cavern, just sitting there with a hopeless expression on his face, but at least no one can hurt or betray him anymore.

(this one I imagine he's floating through emptiness as he sleeps)

(These ones I imagine he's a lost and wandering loner, and wandering about the land) In addition to that, I image he's leaving his new friends to continue on his journey, or rejecting offers of reconciliation from former friends he had left and leaving them.

(Just by himself)

(He says goodbye to a friend and goes on his way)

(2:36) he leaves in a sour huff after rejecting someone (20:19) saying goodbye to a friend and goes on his way

He's alone in a space-satellite looking down angrily at the Earth.

I like this one (0:47) he ultimately refuses the Titans offer to work things out, hands in his communicator and walks off leaving the other to stare grimly until he is out of sight.

(This one, he's all alone and looking at sights that are most familiar to him, giving him strange feelings)

Love this one: (It's the end of another day, and he wonders where his travels will take him next, but he does feel a little lonely. Nevertheless, he must keep on running, until he finds the peace and happiness he desires)

(11:16) Feeling dejected, alone, hopeless, he walks alone through one of those an at the end he falls over his bed in a deep miserable sleep

And I also have a rule for the fantasy world (that I try to follow as much as I can and enforce on my story world): Only certain people are allowed to hear, sing or use certain songs.

(I'll use Beast Boy for this example.)

If he was happy and cheerful, even romantic, he would sing a song like this...

But then when I usually make him dark, upset and alone, he would sing this...

Now, you have to DROP the entertainment bit here. This is where my DO/DON'T come in.

A happy person isn't allowed to listen to the 2nd song: They are not dark and depressed or angry, they have no reason to sing this song, listen to it, or even acknowledge its existence.

The same thing applies to the Dark person: They would not sing the 1st song, because they are not happy, and Noooooooo... they do not get the song to TRY and become happy or give things a chance.

Be you Light or Dark... you stay on your respective side of the wall. Whatever is on the other side of the wall, you're not to touch it or even go near it! (No defecting)

Some songs are hard to do cuz they start dark and turn light, or start light but turn dark.

I'd say this one's more DARK than light... yet it's used over a happy moment.

Keep in mind, I said I try to follow the rules as best I can... sometimes I just can't due to the problems of the songs or circumstances.

Well that's the basic ideal, and that's what I use music for: not solely for entertainment, but to gain ideas for stories, and to blow off steam (They are used for anger and comfort, like war weapons) And that's why I should be careful when trying new things: it might give me more inspiration or piss me off to want to make more fics and vids. I don't care if people say "Can't you just enjoy the song for the entertainment bit" or like that, because answer is already "No"

I didn't com to appreciate the arts behind it, I came to blow off steam! (This time anyway)

If I had to stop making fics period, not only will I disallow music (And this is my rule for my own reality) I will disallow anything associated with it in my life.

-No Television
-No video games
-No movies
-Don't listen to radios
-There's music in the street... COVER YOUR EARS

...Reason: I refuse to use music for entertainment or to appreciate the art of it that way. I use it for as I said (Inspiration, or anger/comfort) nothing else. Having music and entertainment in my life would only give me more ideas and a desire to write more, but if I can't make fics anymore... then they are out! That is the penalty.

funny story...

Rather, Is it that strange that people may listen to music because whatever particular song they listen to just gets their imagination flowing?
I mean, I do, very rarely, listen to a song just for it, but usually it's because it does allow my mind to wonder and imagine stuff.

I do wonder what others think or feel when they listen to music then...
