Consider the following:
That's right. That's Crystal Faire in all her glory. She has, after a period of absence, returned to the cover art for this story. This art was done on commission by Little Tigress (moonlightfan on deviantArt). Go check her out, I can't recommend enough. We did some back and forth on this piece and I'm really really happy with the final product.
I feel like, in the process of doing this, I've discovered Crystal Faire for myself. Take a look at that cutie mark, for example. I never had a concrete idea for it beyond "it's a crystal tree", so to actually see something tangible is something else. And her mane... it's got a certain "Flurry-ness" to it. It's strange because I had imagined Crystal differently but, the moment I saw the sketches for the first time, I said to myself "Yeah, that's definitely her. That's 100% what she looks like, no doubt".
