    Asking for a Favor

When I planned on returning to the website, the idea was to read a few stories as they came, enjoying them and adding them to bookshelves whenever appropriate. However, my list of stories to read later has been shrinking greatly since then, and I am coming to a point where I'll need to compile a list of more stories to check out. In other words, I'd highly appreciate any story recommendations

    Equestria Girls: Forgotten Friendship

Just wanted to say it's really good and definitely worth a watch. Won't spoil anything, but there are a few scenes that made me smile or laugh, and I'm pretty sure Sunset Shimmer fans will find a lot to love in the special. There's even quite a bit of lore for those who enjoy looks into Equestria's past. Anyway, feel free to let me know what you thought about the special in the comments.

    Change of Plans

I suppose this kind of announcement was inevitable, but after getting the okay from a few people, I have decided to be semi-active on FiMFiction. However, there will be some changes around here that will dictate my activities on the site. I suppose they should be described in detail to the best of my ability, and I'll get to them and more after the break.

On the Remaining Season 7 Episodes (Massive Spoilers) · 5:47pm Oct 7th, 2017

So the rest of the season just leaked on 4chan, and a friend of mine showed me the episodes. Because I have now seen the new episodes, and since I'm lazy enough to condense it all in one blog post, I'll just give my brief thoughts on all the remaining episodes and rank each episode from worst to best. Season 7 won't be overtaking Season 5 as my favorite, but as a whole, it was pretty damn good.

Once Upon a Zeppelin:
This was a cute episode, and it's definitely the kind of episode that piques my interest. It was nice seeing not just Twilight's family again, but the triumphant return of Iron Will, who's one of the most entertaining antagonists in the series. Star Tracker also made for an interesting character, as while he was awkward and the perfect reflection of certain fans, his demeanor was written in such a way to where it felt kind of cute and charming. He definitely made a good contrast to Twilight in this episode. Lastly, Princess Cadance's words of wisdom at the end were heartwarming and insightful, and I'm glad the Princess of Love got some time to shine in the episode. It's a good one, and I'd definitely recommend watching it when you get the chance.

Secrets and Pies:
Sadly, the same cannot be said for this episode, as it truly highlighted some of the most annoying parts of Pinkie Pie's character. Interestingly, one of the primary flaws of this episode was that the Wonderbolts needed more of a role to play in the episode instead of just two or three scenes, Soarin in particular given the premise. Nevertheless, Pinkie constantly hounding Rainbow Dash over why the latter won't eat her pies and most of her behavior made it a chore to get through rather than something entertaining. Some of the investigation scenes were decent, however, so it's not all bad. I'd probably rank this as my least favorite of the season, and while it's not the worst episode in the series, I wouldn't call it humorous.

Uncommon Bonds:
It's a Starlight Glimmer episode, and it's rather charming as a whole. Exploring more of Starlight's relationship with Sunburst was something that has always captured my attention, and mentioning how they've developed different interests over the years does feel natural. Furthermore, with the inclusion of Trixie and Maud, it touches upon the important lesson of how friends don't need to have the same interests and hobbies to stay friends. Camaraderie and support have just as much importance when it comes to the strength of friendships, and the gift that Sunburst, Trixie, and Maud surprise Starlight with at the end is another heartwarming scene. There's a reason why Starlight Glimmer is my favorite character, and Sunburst, Trixie, and Maud are definitely up there. I hope we see more stories with all four of them in the near future, whether as episodes or fanfics.

Shadow Play:
To be perfectly honest, I enjoyed this two-part episode a thousand times more than the movie, and there are a number of cool throwbacks to earlier episodes that may pique your interest. The biggest throwback is a flashback whereby the Dazzlings are shown in their siren forms, thus confirming that EqG is canon to the main series. Furthermore, the Elements of Harmony are reintroduced into the story, and the Pony of Shadows makes for an intriguing antagonist. However, the crux of this episode revolves around the reintroduction of the various legends we've heard throughout the second half of the season. Star Swirl, Somnambula, Mistmane, Flash Magnus, Rockhoof, and Meadowbrook all appear in the episode, freed from their time in limbo alongside the Pony of Shadows. Best of all, the Mane 6, Starlight, and the legends all have their own roles in the episode, and each one doesn't feel forced or forgotten. Interestingly, the Pony of Shadows, or Stygian in this case, has one of the better backstories and reformations in the show, and it doesn't feel as contrived or awkward as some of the other reformations. It's not my favorite two-part episode, and some of the decisions are a little odd, but this is definitely one of Haber's better episodes.

And those are the episodes! The good news about Season 7 is that most of the episodes were good enough to where it easily ranks among my second favorite. After all, any season that comes close to Season 5 in overall quality must be good. With that out of the way, let's rank the episodes from worst to best!

25. Secrets and Pies
24. Not Asking for Trouble
23. Fluttershy Leans In
22. Triple Threat

Okay, that was awesome to hear this whole season was a huge improvement. I'm being honest there. Also, it's cool to hear that there was more proper character development. Man, I really want to see those good episodes, and knowing the summary of the episodes, there won't be any flames here.

Though i'm the only one who doesn't want to watch Parental Glideance and All Bottled Up? I'll be honest, with Brick telling me how it went with Parental Glideance, I didn't wanted to watch the episode and with All Bottled Up, I feel there was a case of flanderization with Trixie. It's very questionable why the writers decided to go on with that. I don't want to sound like a jerk or rush judgement, but I feel the writers made Trixie like that just to justify Twilight's behavior in No Second Prances, which was just a downright bad episode.

I personally enjoyed No Second Prances, and while Trixie's arrogance was heightened in All Bottled Up, it's to an extent where I could easily see her behaving in such a way. When it comes to Parental Glideance, there were a few scenes that weakened the episode, but it was entertaining despite those flaws. Like with all things, you're more than welcome to disagree or not watch the episodes. I just happened to like them. :twilightsheepish:

The secret Pear is your fav? Good for you, Granny Smith approve.

so where can I see these leaks?

Yep! It might be the best episode in the series!

They're up on Dailymotion, and /mlp/ was the original source of the leaks. I'd try looking for them in those places.
