Commissions · 10:13pm Oct 5th, 2017

I am offering commissions again. IF you would like a taste of what a story commissioned from me would read like, here are some examples: Ageless, For Everything There is a Season, The Sickness Unto Death.

Stories commissioned from me get the same effort as those I write for myself. While before I had certain restrictions, I have loosened those so that they are practically non-existent now. I need the money, and I am willing to work ludicrous wonders for you in order to attain it. Seriously, we're talking really out there.

My prices are fair, and not that high, but comfortable enough to ensure you get the product you want.

Here are my guidelines:

1. I will write romantic clop. No fetishes--probably not even mine--unless they are light bondage-levels of kink. We can discuss it.

2. I will not write anything that could be described only charitably as awful and offensive.

3. I will, however, write OCs. Including your OC doing whatever it is you want them doing, though we will have to have a conversation. Trust me--if you bring me a character I can make them cool.

4. The minimum is 1500 words. My maximum is 8K, unless you have deep pockets and are willing to commit to an ongoing donation. If it's gonna be bigger than that, if you want something more than 8K, than we can talk it out.

5. All prices are final, unless I offer a discount for whatever reason.

6. I charge .5 cents a word. 1000 words is five bucks. 8000 words is 40. Clop is different and has a different rate. I charge $0.01 a word for clop, so 1000 words is 10 bucks instead of five. A $5 one time charge may be tacked on if its a somewhat extreme fetish or scenario and you and I have talked it over.

7. I retain the right to refuse any commission. I retain the right to pull out of any commission, not that I plan on doing so, and will refund all money received for the work. NOTE: Crossovers involving franchises I know nothing about are likely to not be published.

8. Unless specified, all commissions should take no more than 2 weeks. If they are going to take longer, I will inform you. If I go late, I will either refund part of your payment or work out a deal with you to compensate you for your time and my failure to deliver as quickly as promised.

9. I am also willing to do $5 short story reviews and $10 longfic reviews. I will read your story and write a blog based on it. I will not just write about your story, discussing its merits and using it as a lens through which I can talk about other parts of fiction and etc. Throw in another $5 and I'll make a video about it.

10. Finally, I offer pre-reading services. For $2 per 1000 words, I will read your story and provide both spelling/mechanics suggestions as well as suggestions to improve your prose. If you'd like, I can offer you suggestions in real time, or can just go into the doc and work as soon as payment clears.

But Cyne, how do I commission you? Why commission you?

Well! The first part is easy.

You contact me either through Discord or through a PM here on FiMFic. You write me up either A.) a brief summary of what you're thinking story and perhaps characterwise, B.) a very general idea like "I really want to see a romance/adventure fic with Rarity and Twilight!" or "Could you write a fic about Spitfire?"

Why? Well.

Because you like what I write. Because you want something artsy and pretentious. Because you want something weird or involving Raridash or RariLight. Because you think Rarity is bomb af. Because you want to help me out as my life smolders and weathers hell school. Because you have 15 bucks and you ain't got anything better to do. Because just because.

It will help me out. I won't go farther than that. More people are suffering than me, and it feels very cheap for me to make a pitch on that while I have a roof over my head and friends who would bail me out if the worse happened. I have an apartment and a cat and friends, even if they aren't around as much as I wish they were, and parents who love me and would help me if I needed it desperately.

But it would help me out. Patreon has helped me with rent and with the electricity bill more than once. If I'm going to be transitioning out of this teaching job, which I will be as soon as feasibly possible, commissions will be both easier and provide money quickly that can help supplement my other income.

Finally, it will also help me move towards making a living off of this. I am working on material, as in original material, to publish. Namely, a couple of novels/novellas which with luck and grace will be available on Amazon by earlyish 2018. But before I can get there, I want to work my way into the mindset of writing consistently and doing it as a part of my living. You would be helping me do that while also getting a hopefully good story in return.

Oh. And while I'm at it... permit me to remind new folks that I have a Patreon, even if I like never talk about it ever. Thanks.

And it is a blog, so tell me a story.

See, when you do this, I'm inclined to bother you again about a devastatingly sad Luna story ...

may I has one?

Hmm. I'm kinda tempted here... No idea what I'd have you write, though. I suppose I could always just drop my monstrous idea file on you and let you pick something.

I comissioned "For Everything There is a Season" and I can confirm that it was worth it, thoroughly recommend, would comission cynewulf for words again! :D
