So you know how in life, you have moments that you have to confess to?
Certain things that you're ashamed of, but when you realize that you feel a certain way, you have to just come clean? Like coming out to your parents, or telling your boy/girlfriend that you love them. Hell, even realizing that you've lost passion for the fandom.

No, I have another confession. Something that I'm not sure how the fandom will take it, but... I feel that it needs to be said.
I like Starlight Glimmer.
No, I love Starlight Glimmer. And here's why.
Her place is that of the deadpanned snarker. She doesn't ever involve herself in things like in show musical numbers, and she's always calling ponies out on the weirdness in Ponyville. Things that were just in the show that we all just assumed was a part of the world, SHE actually questions and comments on it.
Also, she has a great dynamic with Twilight and Spike. She sort of fits in with them in my opinion, and gives the air of actually being older than both of them, despite being Twilight's student.
Also, she and Trixie work well together as characters. Anytime I see an episode starring the two of them, I get super excited.
Now, this doesn't mean I like how she was introduced into the main cast. Honestly, the show still under uses her. Also, I don't like her backstory. I feel like it could have been so much better, or better explained. But I don't think that she deserves all of the hate that she gets. As such, as a way of standing up for her, I will say proudly...
I like Starlight Glimmer, and she's quickly hitting Rarity levels of being one of my favorites.
Fight me.
No fighting here. I agree. She says what we're all thinking. And her character works well with most others in the show.

On a serious note.....while I'd like be one of those who'd prefer Sunset Shimmer in Starlight's place......Starlight's fine as part of the cast; she's growing on those of the fandom willing to give her a chance.

I don't hate her, but I find her to be extremely boring, she hasn't had any episodes better then ok, and her reformation and redemption were both awful. I don't hate her because she's not worth hating, but I will fight anyone who says she isn't the worst regular on the show.
I won't hold it against you. I don't end friendships based on what ponies they like.
That being said, you might already know that I despise Starlight and think she's the worst thing that the show ever did.
I have no problem if you have no problem. No hard feelings.

None at all. Like you said, no reason to end a friendship because of differing opinions. You despise Starlight Glimmer, and adore her, so what?
In fact, we could be a testament to that attitude that friends CAN disagree.

Starlight and Trixie have a fantastic dynamic. They are fucking hilarious.
I also like Starlight.I think the bronies on bronies react and analasyt Bronies react were being too harsh on her. During the season 7 premiere I defy you find a brony who wasn't doing the whole Yay Starlight is moving away bid. SHe isn't even involved in that many episodes so I never felt like she over stayed her welcome. She isn't even a mary sue she always over coming flaws and insecurities.
Well then why haven't you written a story featuring her yet?
