    Congratulations, Brits.

I was rooting for the Elmo cosplayer, but the Trump cosplayer seems nice. The tweet salt is quite fantastic, gonna mine me some for a while.

    The Outer Worlds

I got the game because it looked like the Fallout fix I needed. Obsidian, who made New Vegas, made it. It looked like Space Fallout and had a lot of similarities. Waited for the Black Friday sale, then grabbed it for $48. Thanks for the holiday, you turkey-eating Americans.

Visiden Whines It: It isn't the Mane Thing About You · 7:17am Sep 17th, 2017

You know, I think I've watched this episode before, except it was Powerpuff Girls, and it was Blossom with the hair problem caused by an airheaded imbecile who was with her.

Its a pretty mediocre episode, which makes it worse for me as it's a Rarity episode. The saving grace is that I thought her punk rock look was quite adorable. I have to say that this is the worst Rarity episode ever in the history of the show. People are saying that the season has been harsh on Rarity, I'm inclined to agree, but in Season 1, she has been humiliated by her ingrate friends among other things. The whole praising Rarity's achievements was very heavy-handed. All in all, the episode feels like a poor man's version of Suited for Success.

I think Spike should have been in this episode. He probably couldn't save it, but I think his reactions would have helped.

So Twilight can travel through time, erect massive forcefields, cause a mustache to grow on a dragon who has no hair roots to begin with, but a simple mane regrowth is beyond her is it? Fuck off, show. Ooh, look at the amazing Princess Twilight, Princess of Magic, can cause you to sprout butterfly wings, but not stimulate hair growth. Kiss my ass, Twilight, you useless shit.

Yeah, I was pretty disappointed with this episode... I feel there are too many things that Twilight could just fix with magic, but for some reason doesn't...:applejackunsure:

he was there, he just said nothing

Yeah, that was the main problem with this episode for me, they pretty much beat it into us that, in a land where zebra potions can regrow TEETH, and magic can sprout hair on reptiles, that two of the most powerful mages in the land and a master alchemist zebra shamaness couldn't regrow Rarity's mane and tail.

Would it really have been hard to have Twi and Starlight be out of town and have Zecora say she didn't want to mess with it because one of her potions caused it and trying to fix it with another one might make ALL her fur fall out or something? Instead we have another arbitrary (and rather stupid) limit on magic...because the plot wouldn't have worked otherwise.

It reminds me of, but isn't quite as bad, as an arc from the comics where Twilight absolutely REFUSES to deal with a band of bull bandits, even as they're ROBBING PEOPLE RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER because they're 'Equestrian Citizens' or some nonsense. But at the end of the story, she's more than willing to magic up a jail to stuff them in for...vandalizing a historical site(long story). It would have been less painful to just not include Twilight in that story too...

Don't you just love it when they write themselves into a corner, miss the obvious solution, and instead make wide, sweeping changes to the core rules of the world which don't make sense?

Especially since she can grow hair on people in previous episodes, as far back as season 1.

Spike would have probably improved the episode. It would have been a better use of time than fluttershy or rainbow trying to fix her mane. However, I thought it was a lot better than the rarity episode with the magic book, and the lesson about confidence was new and unique.

They should have tried the elements of horrible rainbow hair growth. I think Rarity grew an extra tail during that fiasco. They'd just need Discord to pretend to turn evil or something.
