[Writing Blog]:My... writing style? · 6:25pm Sep 14th, 2017

I'm looking at some writing/trope talking videos on youtube and I see how the video describes how one can learn to art/draw and how tutorials don't contribute to developping a personal writing style, and how that makes some discrepancies. There are similar things occuring in writing and to be honest my own writing style is not... solid.

Like I know how to write, I know the conventions. I understand some tropes but I feel like my own writing style is an amalgamation. A chimera of many things that doesn't leave a "personal touch". Of course that might be just me underestimating myself but I have noticed several fimfiction writers having a writing style so distinct in their writing that I can understand who wrote them just by reading this.

My friend Scarheart for example. I'd recognize his chaotic maelstrom ((that's how I call it)) of hamming epicness anywhere. The way he writes some characters, some jokes, some plotlines... they "stink" of him. ((I mean that in a good way you loveable bastard)).

I'm wondering then... what do I look like? What do you think makes my writing style unique and discernible?

Your style is your own. It must always evolve, always shift. It will reflect your mood and is a fickle thing. Your own style is unique, your stories easy to read. You keep doing you. It will always evolve, so long as you have a love for writing.

Depends on your mood huh? Interesting. I find this true.

I'd have to say it's your way to describe things and characters in your writing.

Was there a spcific passage that you remember right now?

It would have to be the one we worked on together for that contest. The intro to the maze.
