    Anniversary

I'd like to thank you all for following me as I celebrate my second anniversary on FIMFiction. It was eight years ago today, 29 February 2016, that I created my account (though for some reason my account now reads 1 March 2016). I've enjoyed my time writing on this site and look forward to putting out more work in the future. Thank you all and happy Leap Day!

    2023 Wrap-Up

    Happy New Year's Eve!

I've been reflecting on 2023, and to be honest, it's been exhausting! Over the past year, I:
    1) Completed 28 weeks of military training.
    2) Moved from the West Coast to the East Coast.
    3) Written 10 papers.
    4) Attended 4 conventions (BABSCon, TrotCon, Everfree Northwest, GalaxyCon Columbus)
    5) Published 3 stories.
    6) Drove over 9,000 miles.

    2023 Updates

Well, it's been a long time since I posted a blog. Three years, three months and nine days to be exact. Yeah, I'm not really for blogging. I don't feel the need to clutter up your notification box with details from my life. However, I do post when I have news to announce, such as today.

Big News · 3:50am Sep 7th, 2017

Good Evening,

I have big news. First off, let me point out we are now ONE MONTH away from MY LITTLE PONY: THE MOVIE!!! Can you believe that this time next month we can all go see the movie! I don't know about you, but I'm really excited. CAN'T WAIT!!!

Now, time for the GOOD NEWS. After a lot of comments and PMs, I have decided to write a sequel to The Secret Life of... Scootaloo. I had planned it as a one-shot, but my mind tends to always ask the proverbial question: "Then what happens?" So, I had a rough idea for a sequel if there was interest, and it appears that there is. That doesn't mean I'm putting Friendship is Magic: The Movie on the backburner. After all, I will need some time to outline and flesh out the still untitled sequel before I sit down and start writing.

Now, time for the BAD NEWS. Well, not really bad news for me, but bad news for you. I am preparing for to have eye surgery on Friday. My vision is pretty bad, so I have been wanting to undergo laser eye surgery for a long time. My vision has been stable for a while and my cornea is thick, so I have been declared an excellent candidate. The previous commander of my unit didn't allow anyone to have it done (even though it's free), but my new commander is all for it. So, after a final pre-operation optometry visit today, I'm all-cleared for my surgery. So, with all that's been going on, my writing has slowed down. I haven't written anything since Friday. And because my post-operation vision may take a while to return to normal (plus the fact that I've been told I probably won't want to stare at a bright computer screen), I will most likely not be able to write much for the rest of September. I must admit, I'm really bummed out at the prospect of low productivity. Because the truth is, I really enjoy writing. After a long day at work, I look forward to going home, sitting for an hour on my laptop, and cranking out a couple of great paragraphs. Writing relaxes me and gets my mind off all the crap at the office.

So, please be understanding over the coming weeks.

Best of luck on the surgery. Do you think we could get an update on Dreams of the Heart after you've recovered? Thanks in advance!

Good luck with that eye surgery.

I've been working on the new chapter, but haven't liked how it's been going so I'm rewriting it.

Well, if looking at a bright screen is a problem for a while, you could always go old fashioned and write your stories in a notebook, then type them up. I used to work that way, and its great for finding mistakes.

I had thought of that. Only, I'll still have to type it up on the computer at some point. Well, I'm hoping my surgery will go well and I won't have any issues.

True, but that extra step is great for shaking out mistakes
