Announcing a new story. · 5:21am Oct 11th, 2012
So, this blog post is to announce the exciting news that I've been working in collaboration with another writer. Some of you may recognize OrphiusOlyandra as the guy who shows up in the comments of my stories now and again, and insults me a bunch. This usually devolves into arguments and petty name calling, but despite that there are times when we do get along. Those times serve to relax him until he one day divulges where he lives and I murder him, but in the meantime we've been working on a story together.
I've been having a lot fun writing this story with him and I think we've turned out something fairly decent. I think the plan is we release the first chapter after he finishes his half of the editing (lazy bugger) but I'll have to check with him.

There have been a few moments while writing this so far where Orphius has dropped something completely random in my lap and expected me to run with it. That's because he does not plan things. At all. Ever. Compared to my usual fairly meticulous approach this has been complete and utter chaos, but it's been fun and I think the story itself is pretty good.
The story is called The Temple of the Stars (we both suck at naming things) and it's a sweet little slice of life fic about a baking contest in ponyville....
Yeah that's a lie. Neither me or him have ever written anything that I think qualifies as sweet or nice. Maybe his story Trancending Legends (You see what I did there Orphius, you see it, nudge nudge) is a little sweet, but even in that Twilight finds a way to get maimed. Nah, The Temple of the Stars is a story about Luna's past coming to bite her on the ass, and Gilda and Trixie get dragged (pretty literally at points) into it. So far it's not as dark as our usual stuff, but there are more than a few things in there that push it out of the silly fun adventure category.
I'll let you people no when we put it online.
For now though, let me leave you with a question. Why the fuck do I always end up writing Gilda? WHY?!
Because you lurve Gilda. The sooner you admit it, the sooner you two can get married and have cute wittle babies.
Me drop things in your lap? Come on, you just dropped the update schedule in my lap. Bah, fine, I'll get onto it. And here I was trying to draw something half decent for the cover pic. And I'm not lazy, you just write too much. Stop writing so much.
See? Limited planning is awesome! Just let those creative juices flow and let the characters speak for themselves.

Limited planning has its moments. But I still plan on writing my fics my way.
