Thoughts about Fundamentals: Possible Hiatus (WARNING! LOTS TO READ) · 6:40pm Aug 22nd, 2017

Eyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.

If anybody knows how I feel about incomplete stories, is that I dislike them, especially when there is no updates for a long time without addressing the delay. Of course, just because a story is incomplete does not null out me wanting to read them. It just upsets me when there is a flow of chapters, and then... nothing. The story is ignored and/or the writer vanishes.

What upsets me even more is when I am the one delaying chapters or a story's progression. But I will give my reason: Fundamentals was an idea that started two years ago. Now being two years later, I have hardly gotten to the real meat of the story. I know that I do have people reading my story, that I am grateful for. But the attention I give it is shallow. And it is not getting as much attention as my other stories I have started and concluded. Another story that has the least attention toward it is Seconds Late. The difference with that story and Fundamentals is that Seconds Late is finished; all that needs to be done is to post chapters on the occasion. I knew if I posted the first chapter of Seconds Late and was not more than halfway finished, and it got very little traffic, it would never be concluded.

I hate the to admit that lack of attention to a story loses a lot of motivation for me to write a particular story. Finishing it, then posting it is what I prefer. That way, my personal motivation makes me want to finish a story before making it public. That way, if it does not catch a lot of attention, at least those who do want to keep reading are treated with a conclusion.

Fundamentals is still a story I want to write and finish. However, aside from the lack of many readers, the story is planned to be very long. And I already have a long series in the works. Having Fundamentals, alongside my Two Sided series, prevents me from working on other short story titles. Just Some Flowers was a simple sweet story that got good reception and a sequel may be in the works sometime later. Failed Confessions, a short story, is also getting attention and still needs to have a conclusion (though there is a lot of chapters at the ready).

I can muscle on and work on as many stories as I want. Trust me, I am insane enough to do so. But the only way for me to want to even begin the next sentence for Fundamentals, is for my readers who read it tell me not to put it on hiatus. Five. Ten. One. It does not matter. All I ask is just one person to tell me to trek on and continue Fundamentals.

But why is one person enough to continue an epic story? Because one-hundred ones holds value. Each one has their own opinions, likes, dislikes, and value. I value my readers and their opinions. But I do not know anyone's thoughts if they don't speak up. In all honesty, a comment makes more of an impact than a view. It holds value, be it positive, negative, or just random, like a meme.

Leave your thoughts on the matter, even if you don't read the story. What should I do? Of course, if nothing is said about Fundamentals, I will put it on the shelf; perhaps permanently.

Freak, out.
