Sonic Genesis Trilogy 100% Runs Complete · 11:49am Aug 10th, 2017
Alright, well, you folks want a video? How about three?
Flying Battery 2 - 9:59 Bonus
I spent some time at work today brainstorming how to get the 9:59 bonus at the end of Flying Battery Act 2, and it seemed that the only solution would be a well-timed super transformation. It worked like a charm, and Flying Battery 2 was my highest Act total of my entire run, at 160,800.
Sandopolis 1 - 9:59 Bonus
This was the trickiest of all five I successfully did, and it took the most planning of all, involving a stopwatch and a separate playthrough on YouTube. I used the stopwatch to see exactly how much time passed between the pyramid rising and the Guardian plunging into the quicksand on the left side; 55 seconds.
Subtracting that from 9:59, I had my solidly-timed strategy. At this point, I could smell two million.
Sandopolis 2 - 9:59 Bonus
This was fairly straight forward; hitting him 7 times then waiting for a last-second super transformation. It put me just 26,000 away from the 2M mark.
Two years ago, I broke the 1,000,000 mark at the end of Lava Reef 1. This time, the same spot was the 2,000,000 breaking point.
Red Eye at the end of Death Egg 1 was the easiest 9:59 Bonus of the five I pulled off. I just stood in a corner until the last second.
Final tally:
2,226,030 points
131 Lives
22 Continues
Five days until Sonic Mania. Bring it on.
Awesome job! Sonic 3 & Knuckles is my favorite of the series!

Same. Hoping that Mania comes close
4629540 In a lot of ways it seems to have remained the high water mark of the Sonic franchise, even the best of Sonic games since haven't been able to top it.
2,266,030...
You're a mad man. Wonder what the world record is, though.

No clue, but yes, I am perfectly mad.
And even though we know precious little about Forces, what with Mania looming on the horizon, I love how Infinite's theme has a quarter of a million more hits than the main theme. Release your inner edgehog!

Forces was so much simpler when it was just a Generations sequel where Eggman had (somehow) achieved world domination. Honestly, as long as the game has Unleashed/Colors/Generations-style gameplay (and doesn't find a way to fuck that up), I'll be satisfied with it. Frankly, Sonic is one of those franchises where the game can still be good even if the story is shit.
And at the very least, Mania looks like it'll be a resounding success. It's sort of the exact opposite of 2010, when Sonic 4: Episode 1 and Colors were released around the same time, and while people were anxious about Sonic 4, everyone loved Colors.

Colors was absolutely perfect, dialogue wise. It was like I was 10 again on a Saturday morning.
