Although it left it, it knew that it was right, it made it down, because it didn't know what's up.

    You were the Chosen One!

    Alas, it was not so.

So as many of you may have surmised, I have violently but silently passed away.

That is to say I am dead.

Not in the literal sense, but possibly in the literary sense.

To make things short, I had a bit of a breakdown, a couple of other mundane life-things and a lack of time to even consider writing.

    Microstory X - Awkward Twilight

    It happened at a bookstore.

    "Hello," said the clerk.

    "Morning," Twilight mumbled back.

The clerk returned a strained smile back and then went back to work.

Twilight then realised in her half-tired state that it wasn't morning, it was the evening, the store was closed and it wasn't a bookstore, and the clerk wasn't there and she had been talking to a cardboard sign all this time.

    Microstory IX - The Existence

Before Twilight could say anything, Pinkie held up her hoof.

"Twilight, stop, before you say anything. I have to say something!"

    Silence followed.

"What were you going to say?"

    "...I forgot."

"Pinkie... what are you doing on my doorstep?"

"Twilight, you have to help me with my application!"

"What's this?" She held the documents up. "These look like job... rejections?"

Micro Story VIII - The Rock

It started with a slight clicking sound.

Like the fingernails tapping on a tabletop.

    Click. Click. Click.

There it sat on her desk.

    The rock.

Eyes fixated on the inanimate object, Twilight examined it with such rigour.

    But it stood still.

    Yet still was that sound.

    Click. Click. Click.

    Then a different sound.

    Crack.

    Micro Story VII

Twilight glanced out the windows at the dim backdrop of stars.

Night time, she thought, and lazily went back to reading.

Then she returned back to the window.

    No wait, that's space!

Sorry I haven't been able to pump out many physical words. Financial pressure, work, real life and all that jazz. I don't want to bore you with details, but debt sucks and uncertainty even more. I know that's not really an excuse and there are a lot of people who have it harder than me, so I won't bang on about it too much. What you care about is how this affects my writing, so I'll stick to that.

Real life gets in the way, and that, unfortunately, reflects itself in my writing. I write sad when I'm sad. Drama when there's drama. Comedy when I'm happy, etc. You might have noticed I haven't written comedy in a long time... yeah. Also, as you probably know, I don't have the highest self-esteem when it comes to writing. There are some brilliant writers here and I'm no match for that. So I try to comfort myself by rationalising that I should do as I enjoy and do my best.

However... there are times when it gets to me that kind of depressing thought that I'm kinda a hack, and that my writing is poor, and I could be better and that one critical comment is sort of reflective of my whole work and most people are just being polite and not saying how crappy my writing is. Yeah, I know, it's probably not true, but... sometimes that's what stops me from writing. So that can contribute delays, especially in high-rated fics. So I sincerely apologise for that.

I'll try and write comedy soon. I firmly believe that one makes their own happiness and no amount of external circumstances can really make someone feel that (but gosh darn it a million dollars would really help).

Sorry for droning on about my problems and stuff, just wanted to leave it here so that you won't expect too much from me (even though you probably don't anyway, haha). Aww, I made myself sad.

Anyway, I really, really, appreciate your support and kind words. You guys are following me because you're super-awesome people that make me feel great, so thanks for sticking around little old me. If you need any help, just drop a line. I'm always kinda sorta lurking in the editing chat in Discord.

As long as you don't drop off the face of the earth, I'm just happy that you're here among us.

Keep on chuggin'; life will always turn your way again.

You are right in that a million dollars would really help, money is statistically correlated with happiness. (Up until the upper middle classes, at around that point it's effect tapers off and stops mattering) Being secure financially really does make it a lot easier to be happy.

4617715 4617711 Thanks, it really means a lot to see comments so fast. Money is one thing, but I reckon it also needs a personal drive to get there too! I'll keep trying to think positive and crank out some of them horse-werds.

Ah, the joys of being an adult in real life.

And self-esteem issues... that's a pretty evil demon too. But, to say the least, if you were truly as bad as you sometimes believe you are, you wouldn't have even a fraction of fans as you do now. I think the numbers, in this case, speak for themselves
