I Am The Night

Mares are cute. They are also fluffy. I want to pet the pretty mares and give them snuggles.

Chester Bennington. · 12:36am Jul 21st, 2017

Chester Bennington was my idol.

When I first listened to Linkin Park, I must've been no older than five years old. When I listened to their music, I was really into it for such a young age. Their music clung to me over the years, making me dream and look to the future with optimism.

Even through all the hate they got for everything they've done, I kept up with them, listening to their music and just loving everything about them.

Chester Bennington was an amazing singer. He had one of the best singing voices that you could ever hear in your life. He could sing like an angel, scream like a devil, and be a hell of a hybrid all the same.

He was my inspiration. He was the reason I was into music at all.

Linkin Park changed my life. Chester changed Linkin Park.

Now he's gone, and I feel broken. If you didn't already know, Chester Bennington took his life this morning (7/20/17) at the age of 41, the birthday of Chris Cornell, a close friend of his who passed just three months ago.

I didn't want to believe it. I couldn't believe it. Chester had been dealt a heavy hand throughout his life, but he pushed through nonetheless. He was the kind of person I could look to for help, even though I didn't know him. I never met him. I've always wanted to meet him, meet his friends, meet Linkin Park.

When I found out, I was in denial. How could I believe that the one man that inspired me as a musician took his own life?

But it happened. It was real. It is real.

"Who cares if one more light goes out?"

I do.

I fucking do.

And I always will.

RIP Chester Bennington (1976-2017)

Truer words could not have been said better....

I had gotten into Linkin Park after hearing What I've Done in the Transformers movie, and it's become one of my favorite bands alongside Sabaton, Amaranthe and Skillet, and to find out about this, came as a shock to me.

He will not be forgotten, by both his band members and fans of the band.....

He was a talented one... :fluttercry:

It's such a tragic coming from someone who I looked up and the fact that he's gone, it changes everything. Linkin Park has always been my all time favorite band growing up and their music has changed my life when I was a young kid. I don't know if I'll ever recover from this, but until then, all we can do is pray. Sending my condolences to his family and friends. RIP Chester Bennington.

Linkin Park is my favorite band. And to hear that one of their members had died makes me sad. :fluttercry: But we will not forget all that he has done.
R.I.P. Chester Bennington :pinkiesad2:

Why a suicide, though? He'd have been grieving the loss of Cornell, I admit, but he surely had the rest of LP's collective shoulder to cry on through it all. :fluttercry::fluttershysad::pinkiesad2::raritycry::raritydespair:

Depression can do that to people. :(
