So uh yeah...
I think I'm gonna explain a few things about Darksiders: Equestria's Tree of Life to take my mind off of what just happened.
In my last blog post I asked you guys if you wouldn't mind Death and Silvia eventually falling in love over the course of the story and so I thought I might explain it in more detail so you guys have a better understanding of the idea.
I'm going to keep their interactions the same but with some situations that could imply either a strong friendship or a romantic couple, either way for the majority of the story it will mostly be up to interpretation.
However this unfortunately affects at least two events in the story as two characters will have to be written differently depending on what you guys want to see.
Discord and Chrysalis.
Our heroes will run into Chrysalis a few times before and after A Canterlot Wedding as a minor antagonist, who will be the first to point out any kind of feelings our heroes might have for each other be it romantic or otherwise.
My plans to have her impersonate Silvia later on will have to be tweaked if this ship is friend zoned.
As for Discord well I was gonna have fun with the whole romance sub plot but eh I can ditch that for a good ol' fashioned manipulative villain arc and have him subvert Silvia for the lolz.
Or Discord could just straight up torture her 'cause the best way to get back at Celestia and Luna is to mess with their mother.
Either way it's still going end with Silvia punching Discord in the face.
Finally I'd like to mention that regardless of which path the story takes, I'll be doing my best to ensure characters stay in character.

based on what your planning sounds like romance will give you more story options so I'd say go with that one.
Also I hope your mother is okay and whatever is wrong turns minor.

Mum has kidney stones and the whole 'she got rushed to hospital' thing happened so fast that I'm kinda having trouble dealing with it.
I'm jumpy as shit and I have a headache from trying not to cry...
I don't handle rapid change well but I should calm down in a day or two and hey, at least it's just kidney stones and not something else.
On the bright side I'll be more motivated to write to distract myself from all this...
I don't think I'm getting any sleep tonight...

Oh and yeah romance would give me more options to explore themes of why the characters would want that kind of relationship, what they want out of it and it give the villains something to try and tear apart and our heroes get awesome moments in the spotlight...
There's also the character development and a chance for me to apply headcannon to some stuff in both crossover sources.
I mean there's already headcannon with alicorns 'n stuff but ya know, more fun for me.

I'm always up for romance in a story so long as it doesn't devolve into both constantly calling each other "my love" like they're written in a romance fic with Fabio on the cover

I've read my fair share of romance fics so I'll be trying to present the romance as subtly as I can.
I haven't really seen romance fics where the main couple kinda just gradually slip into a relationship without really realizing it and that's the kinda story I'm hoping to portray.
It'll be like this- they like each other, they know their feelings are mutual but they'll just keep doing what they've been doing because it's not high on their list of priorities.
Hell I'm thinking of doing a scene set just before Death and Silvia face the final boss of Darksiders 2 where they question what their relationship is but push the idea aside for later even though there might not be a 'later'.
I gonna make the subplot make sense at the very least. Just don't expect clop.
I refuse to write clop lol.
