Heya readers,
I'm sure many of you are quite happy to see that Sunset Shimmer is MAD About EVERYTHING get a sequel so quickly. I'm pretty happy with the start I have. Though, some of you who've talked to me at length about the first fic might be wondering why I'm doing this again after maybe not having a great time going through The Crystalling 1 & 2 with a fine toothed comb.
First and foremost, I actually liked 'A Royal Pain'. I had many questions regarding the table (which this fic answers in its own, special way), but I felt Starlight was mostly on point. That being said, there's probably going to be a bit less lifting whole sections from the episode for Sunset to comment on this time around. One of the reasons I picked this episode over others is, firstly, I felt I had a good 'in' with Sunset. Second, I felt Sunset's past meant I could deviate at times and add plenty of new material without Sunset just sort of being dragged along from scene to scene while the episode carried on much the way it already had. Granted, I mostly got away from that towards the later half of MAD, but an issue with some of the other episodes people suggested is Sunset's presence probably wouldn't change much, I felt. Worse, she'd simply steal the thunder from other characters who may have been on point for the most part.
This will definitely explore more of the 'family' aspects that I enjoyed from MAD, and of course, there will be plenty of comedy. Still, it'll be nice taking a long, hard look at an episode I enjoyed.
Thanks for reading and enjoy!
Didn't see this coming so fast.
Anyway good choice for the episode. Poor Starlight though, she will now risk three alicorn nightmares. Also good thing this episode has less characters so you should have more freedom.
Seriously though, someone will end up with PTSD after you are done with this story.
Dammit man, I haven't finished griping my way through the first one yet! Though admittedly there's been less of that since around the time Starlight got drunk... may or may not've been a coincidence. Good to see a sequel, looking forward to it.
Puts the third EQG short into perspective.
