Sometimes, an editor makes comments that frustrate you. It happens a lot -- at first -- but when you start correcting the mistakes your making all the time, that rate really drops off. It's just a part of growing as a writer. Sometimes, an editor makes comments that make you go, "Ah! How did I miss that?" and you fix it. For me, that's about 8/10 comments, the regular pattern. Sometimes, semi-frequently, you'll get a comment that really makes you go, "Huh. I did not think of that," and seriously restructure the story. Those are the best comments, and I think it's a sign of how good my editors are that they come up with them so often.
Sometimes though, you get the worst possible comment. A well considered, carefully referenced, very thoughtful explanation, of how your chapter has fundamental flaw that requires you to start over. Because at that point, you have no good options. You're either going to disregard the advice of someone who obviously worked quite hard to help you and have a worse story, or you're going to have to go through the long slog all over again.
I'll leave you to guess if I redid it or not, but, I just want to say thank you to one specific editor. If you're reading this, you know who you are.
