Tidings

Four tidbits for everyone, all below the fold. Don't worry, it generally positive.

Firstly, I have not yet seen any of the "(Noun) Magic" EQG specials yet. Not in their entirety, anyway. Some screencaps on Derpibooru and a redubbed music video, but aside from that, I'm waiting until they air on Discovery Family. If the timing's right, they'll be first in the queue for Friendship is Card Games should we get an intraseasonal hiatus. If not, I suppose I'll have to post a cardless reaction blog at some juncture.

Secondly, if you enjoy obscure ships, especially if you enjoy writing them, you should check out Jake the Army Guy's Horse Word Extravaganza. Actual cash prizes are up for grabs, and the pot grows based on the number of participants. I've already been asked to judge, so I can't join in, but I'll be looking forward to seeing what everyone else comes up with.

Thirdly, princeps, who you may remember as the most prolific entrant in Imposing Sovereigns, is offering writing commissions to raise money to go to Bronycon. Check him out; he's one of the most intriguing overthinkers I've seen on this site, and that's really saying something.

Finally, an idea that I have no way of sharing: How, how, how are there no Rainbow Dash-themed PMVs based on the song "Rocket Horse"? Especially after we got her turbo dad and her nitro mom in "Parental Glideance"? I'd totally make one if I had the video library and editing capabilities to throw something like that together, but I instead leave that in the capable hands of anyone who has those things and is reading this.
