Entropy: Cancel, Remove, or Finish? · 10:22pm May 6th, 2017
So, I've finally realized what's been really bothering me so much about Entropy:
This is not a reformation story. It's about taking Discord's character and crushing it to broken pieces and dust, leaving behind something shockingly dull and mindless behind. This is not Balance, or Harmony, except in the barest sense. I'm destroying his character on a fundamental level and leaving nothing but Order behind.
As I've realized this, I'm now left with several options.
1.) Delete this story for its poor moral.
2.) Leave it cancelled but unfinished.
3.) Finish the thing the way it is, poor moral and all.
4.) Rewrite it a third time, without destroying Discord's personality, but changing a good portion of the plot to allow him to maintain some chaos and magic.
5.) Keep writing it, but find a way to 'twist' the ending as is to something more meaningful and real, that fixes what would have been a horrible moral into something better.
What do you guys think I should do here? And what do you think about the story as a whole and/or Discord's characterization in it?
What feels best for you
