It's Kumamiko All Over Again: Alice to Zouroku · 5:25pm Apr 16th, 2017

*sigh*

I have...mixed feelings about this show. Especially after this week's episode.

I had a hard time getting engaged with this show in the premiere, to the point that it took me two sessions to get through the 44 minute episode. If I had not read up on the slice-of-life aspect and been promised a sweeter slice-of-life show like Amaama or Poco, I would not have even bothered finishing the first episode, because the entire setup felt like Elfen Lied Lite, and Elfen Lied is...well...yeah.

But I watched it through, decided to stick with it. Then episode 2 happened, and episode 2 was exactly the show I wanted this to be and seeing Sana and Sanae together made me happy, and I really really loved episode 2 and I thought "okay, the plot's probably not going to go away, but at least maybe it'll stay more with THIS kind of thing and not the Elfen Lied stuff."

And then there's this asshole--I mean, this week's episode.

*sigh*

I just don't know. The toilet scene disturbed me. Minnie C is an evil, sadistic, creepy freak. More to the point, the Elfen Lied shit got shoved violently back into the forefront after only one episode of what I actually want from this show, and it's going to be the main focus for at least one more episode before anything fun happens again.

I don't want to just drop this show, but...

I feel like I've been lied to. Like I can't trust this show to be what it was sold to me as anymore.

*sigh...*

So you´re saying you´ve been....Elfen Lied/i] to?

4498585 No. Bad. Shame on you.

4498633 Well, at least the pun went out with a Yang

This is going to sound bad, but......this is probably the anime equivalent to bipolar disorder. ....or schizophrenia.

Don't you just love false advertisement? :raritywink:

[/sarcasm]

:ajbemused:

4498675 Yeah, a lot of people are saying that. Basically, people are of the opinion that Alice to Zouroku can't make up its mind what genre it is, what kind of show it wants to be.

4498809 Yeah.....from the sounds of it....it can't. :/ Way you make it sound.....I'd might've been interested in it; something with some action.....a bit of slice of life... Maybe not a complete anime version of MLP, but.....sounded somewhat interesting.....till I ran across your episode 3 thoughts.

I mean.....I might check it out....least through images but....it's not good if a series switches it's mood episode to episode and I mean HARD switches, like mental whiplash switches.
