The Spiritual Successor of "Princess Flurry Heart, Destroyer of Worlds!": Differences and Similarities

Hello, dear readers of "Princess Flurry Heart, Destroyer of Worlds!"! As promised in this blog entry, I am here to give you a little more information about "Journeys and Destinations: A Friendship for Eternity", the spiritual successor of "Princess Flurry Heart, Destroyer of Worlds!" until a possible sequel comes, and to detail differences and similarities between the two fics.

As I already mentioned in the other blog entry, the beginning of the fic is set right after the events of "Twilight Time" and starts with Applebloom, Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle having just gotten taught in their talents by Twilight. They are good at mixing potions, repairing vehicles and magic, so they figure they have good chances that these are their special talents and they want to put them to good use now.
After a more or less successful morning of selling Applebloom's leftover potions, they sit in the clubhouse to rest up, as they realize that, with each of them having a different talent, they probably have to split up one day, work at different places and cities where they can use their talents, which will result in that they won't be able to see each other that often anymore.
They think about it for a while and, agreeing that they don't want to split up ever, they decide to become traveling sales ponies, moving around with a self-built sales cart to sell the potions Applebloom is making across all of Equestria, while Sweetie Belle moves the cart with her magic and Scootaloo is responsible for repairing it.
That way, they think, all of them can use their talents at the same time, get better at them and eventually get their cutie marks and then put their talents to further use, all while staying together forever due to their journey.
This is as much as I can go into detail about the plot. However there is more to it.
As you might have noticed, "Princess Flurry Heart, Destroyer of Worlds!" delved a little bit into the theme of growing from certain life experiences, apparent in Chapter 19 "Pendulum".
This will be similar with "Journey and Destinations: A Friendship for Eternity" and it will be much more noticeable here.
While this fic is a classical adventure fic, the journey Applebloom, Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle undertake will leave marks (No, not those marks. Or will it?) on them; they will make experiences, they will learn new things and they will have to go through hard times together that slowly, but steady, change who they are and shape their personalities further.
Showing how their journey affects them and what it makes out of them is one of the main focuses of this fic. If you liked the aspect of personal growth in "Princess Flurry Heart, Destroyer of Worlds!" and don't mind seeing this with other ponies than Flurry Heart, this fic might be something for you.
As mentioned already, the fic was started at a time when Applebloom, Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle didn't have their cutie marks yet. However, this won't pose a problem for this fic and neither will there be a need to place the Alternate Universe tag on it, since it is starting from a moment of the past and developing from there.
There will also be close connections and tie-ins to the events we've seen in the show when there is an opportunity, as much as the scenario allows for, so it definitely won't be an Alternate Universe story.
It will be much more of a story about a possible direction their life could have taken:

What if they wouldn't have stayed in Ponyville after Twilight's lessons and, instead, decided to put their talents to good use all over Equestria?

Other than that, the epic aspects of "Princess Flurry Heart, Destroyer of Worlds!", will also be played up much more here. There will be lots of magic, epic villains and more like this, everything you would expect from a classical epic adventure story.
But like with my fic for Flurry Heart, there will be Slice of Life as well and character interactions and conflicts will be a big part of the fic, too.
All in all, you will see many differences to "Princess Flurry Heart, Destroyer of Worlds!" here, but there will be similarities and familiar things as well.
