Totally Not Canceled! · 9:57am Mar 22nd, 2017

Whoa! I had no idea "hiatus" tag was as synonymous with "this story is dead" as it apparently is.

I do have plans for the future, with Saving Equestria, and at the very least we need to get to the end of S3 and see Twilight get her flappies!

I am sorry if I gave the impression that the story was kaput; it isn't ending, and so I am setting it back to "incomplete" so as to not give the impression that it is dead.

*collective sigh of relief

4467557 Unless it isn't obvious, I don't read a lot of fiction on here. When I started getting all the panic comments about it ending I asked around and found out the startling similarity between "hiatus" and "canceled" so far as tags go. :twilightblush:

To be fair, any tag except "cancelled " can be synonymous with canceled around here
And it's only because a word can't be synonymous with itself :twilightsheepish:
It's only that "On hiatus" is the most brutally honest about it, since it's the author saying "I'm taking a pause"... Except 75% never come back.

Sometimes hiatus used as a low key world for cancelled, and deynarth is right when a fic goes on hiatus 75% don't come back to finish it.

Well , i personaly can count the times that a "hiatus" story came back on the fingers of one hand, while missing all fingers.
So hiatus being synonimous with canceled is not just a joke, its the actual reality on this site.

4467617 With all that in mind I have shifted this to incomplete again. I love these characters too much to say goodbye to them this soon!

'Hiatus' is usually synonymous with 'totally dead' on this site. Even 'incomplete' can be at times if it hasn't updated in a while. I've even seen blogs about authors returning to the story and then nothing. On the other side, I've seen stories update several months after I've forgotten about them and prompted me to read them again, so there is that.

It's just very inconsistent on this site. I understand that real life gets in the way; it happens.

4467770 this reason is why i have a "dead storys that i love" folder with the update enabled some times i am surprised (and happy) to see an old story update some times it is not but such is life

It's not canceled, I just need a break

(hasn't been updated in two years and account has been offline for 70 weeks)

That's basically what hiatus means which we all probably know by now

...And this is why you never put "Hiatus" if you want to finish the story...
