Greetings Gotham, Joker here! I have a little update for you all on the second chapter of You Can't Lock Up The Darkness, which properly introduces Hunter Zolomon, a CSI for the Baltimare Police Department, often referred to as "Kickass, PhD," and is actually feared by most of the BPD, and Detectives Twilight Sparkle and Spike, both of the Major Crimes Unit. The reason for Hunter being called Kickass, PhD is simple: when Hunter first started his job at the BPD as a CSI, a certain Prick Blueblood wanted him on his payroll, so he has a couple of his guys try to get Hunter on the take, or else beat him until he accepts. Hunter of course refuses, but when the dirty cops try to beat him up, Hunter kicks their asses, tells them that he can't be bought and to not start a fight they couldn't win, before walking back to his lab like it was nothing. Good thing the BPD is one of the most corrupt police forces in Equestria, eh?
Now, this of course presents a problem for me and my story that could cause everything to go to hell in a handbasket: if Hunter's the only human in Baltimare, or Equestria for that matter, and he can seriously kick some ass, then it might cause an alarm or two to go off about who Zoom really is a bit sooner than I'd like. Meaning it'd happen within one or two chapters, and Zoom isn't supposed to be captured and unmasked until late in the story not long before his first fight with Daniel West/Reverse-Flash (not that it matters because of Hunter's time remnant trick, which tricks everyone outside of Twilight, Spike, and Lightning Dust into thinking that Hunter ISN'T Zoom). In other words...
Yeah, clearly. But, I can't ditch this project and start up a new one AGAIN, since I'm trying to prove something to myself and my haters. So, what to do about this problem?
Make Hunter Zolomon NOT the only human in Equestria, by having Equestria be the 8th Continent (9th counting Atlantis) of the world, which also explains the anthro horses (thank you 2nd Person clopfics! You've finally proven yourself useful)
Anyways, Hunter, Twilight, and Spike investigate Zoom's crime scene. That's all I've got so far. But, I'm thinking in Chapter 3 that Zoom goes up against Starlight Glimmer/Captain Cold for the first time. Also, I'm thinking about getting a co-author.
Getting a co-author sounds like a good move to me.
