Hey guys, as some of you may know, I updated Friendship Is Monsters with a new chapter. I'm gonna also spruce up the summary, I originally wanted to do a series of short, individual stories, but was advised that it might be more difficult to organize, which I agree. So that's why the summary was so short to begin with.
I'm also working on a cover, but I have no idea what to put. I don't want it to reveal too much, I want something simple and clean, new age kind of.... I do have an Idea, even for a place holder, so you'll have to wait a bit longer for that... but if you have ideas, feel free to scream them at me bellow
Finally, what I'm sure most of you are curious about, the pictures. Some people have wanted pictures of what the cast of Friendship Is Monsters look like, and to me, this it is. Well, this is Rainbow and AJ anyway, more to come. Firstly, these are my interpretations. While it is my story to write, I know that sometimes putting pictures to stories can fudge what you imagine as you read the story yourself. If these are not what you see in your head as you read, feel free to ignoring them, their not 'final draft' anyway. Second, humans are NOT my best subject art wise. Animals are more my fortay. I just recently started to draw them more due to things like The Loud House or Steven Universe. So if their a little off, then thats why. To be fair though, I'm quite pleased with how they have turned out. I plan on adding Flutters, Rarity and Pinkie later on. As for Sunset and Twilight, they look just like they did in 'The Friendship Games' but with Sunset having Vampire fangs and her bite mark.
Thats about it. Enjoy the art folks!
If you want something basic for the cover, I'd recommend taking one of the group shots from Equestria Girls or FiM and using the monster versions. Something a bit more stylistic could be Twilight on one side with the rest of the girls on the other reaching out for her. I'd suggest just having Sunset and Twilight, but that would imply that it's a romance or a vampire story, but at the same time, they are the main characters. If you want a more thematic group shot, I recommend looking at some KIngdom Hearts and Final Fantasy covers and art. The Persona 3 and 4 openings (all of them) might also help. There's also an interesting YouTube series called What's In An OP by Mother's Basement which examines anime openings shot by shot and might give you some ideas. Don't worry about it being spoilery; unless it's a major late scene (like a character death) or a character you want to keep hidden, it won't matter. Heck, if Twilight stops being human later on, no one would mind that being on the cover (unless it's the ending). Usually the comments spoil much more than the covers ever do.
All in all, your story is great and your artwork looks good too.
Excellent Designs!
