So. I had a day off today thanks to it being Presidents' Day*, and I figured I'd go do something fun now that weekdays where I have no obligations are a precious commodity. Thus, I went and saw the Lego Batman Movie, having heard good things about it.

For the sake of avoiding spoilers, all I'll say is that someone in Hollywood is clearly reading fan fiction. It's entirely possible that someone in Hollywood is writing it. If Lego and Hasbro can ever get along well enough to do one of these for ponies, we are in business. For now, I suppose there's always AlStiff's My Lego Pony shorts.

*Note for those outside the US: George Washington's birthday is February 22nd. Abraham Lincoln's is February 12th. We split the difference.

Man, a hypothetical LEGO My Little Pony Movie would have SOOOOO many cameos...

Oooh, forgot it's President's Day.

Not that I get the day off, mind, but the time and a half will be nice, at least.

As for LEGO, everything they seem to make a LEGO version of just seems to be gold... :pinkiehappy:

I'm gonna go see it on Wednesday. I too have seen only good things said about it, so I'm looking forward to it.

Lego...
Ponies?

Update: While looking for examples of pastel horses in the medium of construction bricks, I found this and two other shorts. The linked one even includes Lego pony Tesla!

4430448 I mean, there's also those LEGO Equestria Girls fics. I've never read them, but, you know, LEGO.

You mean the one with Equestria Dynamics?
Your link was to a playlist.

:facehoof: I am not having good luck with links today. Should be fixed now.

Lego Batman was hilarious. Though I'm curious - how do you relate it to fanfic vs just 'Totally insane love affair to all Batman'?

I actually read a frankly amazing Shocker fanfiction (you know, the minor villain from Spider-Man) and later found out it had been written by a big name in Hollywood. It was a very weird feeling.

Actually, lemme see if I can find it.

Here it is! "Shocker: legit" by Max Landis!

I actually strongly recommend it, it's amazing. Basically, what happens when a minor villain decides to try being a hero, with a lot of ruminations on the prices and incentives villains have (I once saw the Vulture screaming in prison that he was going to get back at Spider-Man. I vowed to never reach that point. After a year in the business, I was doing the same thing)

When Batman explicitly said "Batman doesn't do ships" in the first act, I got more than a little suspicious. The insane Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny crossover battle royale confirmed those suspicions. Yes, the movie goes gloriously deep into Bat Lore, but last I checked, never before did Batman go up against Sauron, Voldemort, or the Wicked Witch of the West.

However, knowing DC, I wouldn't be surprised if he'd fought Daleks before.

Ooh. I'll be sure to give it a look.

First thought when I saw that:

"MLP is AWESOOOOOOOME

MLP is cool when you watch with your friends

MLP is AWESOOOOOOOME

From beginning to end..."

4430872 Ok, yes, all those points were valid. I don't know if it quite passes the fanfic barrier for me, but I can see where you are coming from.

I saw it today: it was gloriously entertaining.
