On the Murderous Nature of the State of Tennessee · 8:13pm Feb 9th, 2017
Long story short is that, while driving home from work last night, I lost control of my vehicle, did a 540 degree spin, travelled backwards for a few hundred feet, scraping up against guardwire/guardrail the whole time, before coming to a gentle rest in the median.
Aside from some neck and back pain, I think I weathered it rather well. Unfortunately, the back right side of my vehicle looks a like a Picasso. Still drivable at least, so counting my lucky stars there.
So then, this is the second time in the last year that Tennessee has tried to murder me. Well, maybe it's Mother Nature, or one of the many dieties I've undoubtedly insulted over the course of my inglorious life.
The first time was under similar circumstances when, all of a sudden, out of nowhere a rain squall flooded the road Bun Bun and I were driving down, we ended up taking our Prius C for an impromptu boat ride.
This time, a sudden rain squall swept in, I didn't really see it until I was suddenly in it, hooray darkness. In that sudden torrential sideways rain, I again discovered the joy that is too much water on the road, which was much less than the Prius boat-ride incident, but was more than enough to send my RAV4 into a nice helicopter spin.
Yeah, breaks (and tires in general) don't work on wet grass, even when you're traveling backwards with the one corner of your car spraying metal and sparks like some cheesy prop car.
If there were a moral to this story, it's that Tennessee weather is a harsh mistress, so treat her like you would any other thing that has tried to murder you twice...
The only problem is that I already married Bun Bun...
Wait, so that means Tennessee weather could be a mistress...
Wow, I'm glad you're okay
That sounds horrifying. I hope that you are okay. :(

Thank you both, I just saw the doctor. Aside from some pulled muscles, I'm good to go. Some basic anti-inflammatories and muscle relaxers are all I really needed.
4415798 That's good, just take it easy
4415798 You are welcome. I hope that you will recover soon.
Sounds like you had quite the adventure. I'm glad you're fine.
Yeah, glad you're all right. :O Sounds like this storm is putting everyone through the wringer.

Thx for all the well wishes, everypony.
Doing much better today, muscle relaxers ftw.
Just have to see how much it'll cost to make the car legally drivable again, can't go around with no right side tail lights.
4416728 I am glad to hear that things are getting better. :)
I'm glad your alright.

Thx.

OF course my friend.
I'm glad you are well and I'm sorry that you were nearly maimed by the weather of Tennessee. She can be a harsh mistress that one.

Yeah, she's pretty unforgiving
