Very few people have a proper flight joystick+rudder pedals setup anymore, though that's the only way to play the old X-Wing/TIE Fighter series.

When you’re coding, do you actively need to channel magic in order to code; or is it more passive, allowing you to perform other tasks like levitation at the same time?

The thing is I'm doing a double major: music and magic. Despite what everypony might claim, the two are quite different. Initially I wasn't even interested in music. As mist young unicorns I wanted to become the greatest mage there ever was, possibly even Princess Celestia's apprentice.
I only got into music because of a very close friend of mine. Turns out I was very good at it (thus the cutie mark).
Going back to your question... I would have liked someone with mode coding skills to create a fansite for MC, but it's been seven years now (more if you count the originals) and still nothing. At the end of the day what's important is that it works, right? :)

Personally, I use a direct interface, using magic to directly affect the aethercode. I guess I could use a solid input device, but those are a bit slow and clunky. CodeFilly uses both for speed, yet I can't dream of matching her.
Catch fire from coding? That would be a laugh. There aren't enough clouds to keep Equestria safe if it was that easy. No, it's just like a high fever. Headaches are nasty, but nothing can catch fire. The horn ice packs are just to deal with the migraines while coding.

Taur fiction. For some reason those really creep me out. It's not even a matter of skill. Centaurs, Minotaurs, and the like just seem too weird. Humies are already remarkable, why add pony elements?
The weirdest fic I've read was about Mistmount getting flooded (for some reason) and all humans turning into fishmans (or fishmen for the grammar sombrites). So we have fish-Danny and seapony caprice dealing with this new reality, while competing for fish-Karl. (Don't ask.)
I never got past chapter 1... and the author is a very good friend of mine too :(

Lol! Why is everyone asking coding questions? Icons are so not the main focus right now. Plus we need an artist for that. Do you know any? PaintDrop is good, but she's too focused on drawing scenes and full characters.

MixaMax and I go back a long way. I first met her in elementary school. She didn't have enough magic skills to start a career in magic. :( She's really a good friend, if a bit bossy at times... and way too focused on keeping things organized:/
