(Results) Top Thirteen Best and Worst Moments of the Spiders and Magic Series! · 4:40am Jan 7th, 2017

The list alternates, starting with the worst and ending with the best. I've gone back and read comments from the blog and stories. I have a general idea of what the people loved and hated about the series. Now let's get the list started.

Note: I've left the action scenes from this list and will do a Top Ten Battles of the Spiders and Magic verse.

Best and Worst- 13 & 12. Oh, my precious Luna.

This... is interesting. Luna has been a rather polarizing figure in the series. She's one of the main characters alongside Peter Parker, Twilight Sparkle, and Trixie. However, she was the main rival to Twilight for Peter's affection. However, she yielded and quietly obsessed over Peter for the course of the entire series.

Now, why Luna is a best AND worst is because of her popularity. She was VERY popular, having a lot in common with Peter and developing an organic friendship with him. However, when she was denied a herd, the backlash was IMMENSE. I remember losing several readers for that decision.

Fortunately, it's become a best again, since the What-If tale centering around Peter and Luna has been met with a great reception.

So, here's to Lunar Spider.

Best- 11. The Growth and Development of One Peter Parker

Over the course of this three-year writing journey, we've watched Peter Parker grow from an angsty, guilt-ridden teen to a happy, fun-loving father. Sadly, one thing remains true in Marvel comics. The character of Peter Parker isn't allowed to grow TOO much. Once he grows to a certain point, the company has to retcon his development and start him over in some capacity. It's why he's spent YEARS as a bachelor and has the infamous title of 'One More Day' looming over his head.

However, it's a joy to hear many readers say that I managed to treat the character of Peter Parker/Spider-Mane with just as much, if not more, respect and dignity than Marvel had in years. I'm a firm believer of constant development. Marriage isn't the end of a character's journey. It's just the start, and you can have many adventures with that premise. Peter has continued to grow in many ways over the course of this series (twenty-five years spanning). He's become a brother, father, knight, prince, hero, and the living embodiment of order and harmony. Yet, he's still the light-hearted goofball we all know and love.

Cheers, Spidey. Or as we know now... Order-Spider. "Whatcha think, Mr. Changelingdude32?"

Worst- 10. The Parker Harem is Strong, Chuck

This is something that people seem to like and dislike. The only reason it's not lower on the list is because they understand 'Peter Parker with a harem' is practically a trope in the comics. Plus, it has helped that the harem has somewhat lessened over the course of the series. Part I's Harem was HUGE compared to what we had in Part III and IV. He still has the harem of his Twilight, Trixie, and Luna, but they've been considered the main three. So here's hoping Parker's charm is lightened in the coming tales.

Best- 9. Twilight Vs. Jameson: "You're Fired."

To this day, this moment has resonated with fans of the series. We all love Jameson, his flat-top, and his unmatched energy. Deep down, we see he's a nice and compassionate guy. HOWEVER. For some reason, Jameson just cannot rid himself of his petty, ignorant hatred for Spider-Man, constantly slamming the guy's name just for the sake of publicity. So, it was very cathartic for everyone to see Twilight fire Jameson on her first day on the job as Head of the Daily Bugle.

Worst- 8. One Night Stand with Sweetie Belle

Welp. This was a relatively sensitive subject. Although people have lightened up towards it over time, when this FIRST happened, many readers were appalled and offended at what transpired. However, some saw it for what it was: a moment of weakness from a pony that had been beaten into the ground both physically and mentally. What would you do if your wife, kid, family, and two best friends were killed in a short time span? You'd try to find comfort where you could. The answer isn't black and white. Again, this isn't lower because people came to understand it. However, most initial reactions were VERY negative.

Best- 7. A Wild Stan Lee Appears!

People had been asking and anticipating it for the course of the ENTIRE Spiders and Magic series. It never came in Part I, II, III, or 3.5... However, it finally came near the closing chapters of the series finale. Peter and co. go to Earth and spot a convention. As if the stars aligned, Peter got to meet his literal maker, the immortal Stan Lee. Fans thoroughly enjoyed the moment, and I did as well. It only seems fitting that Stan gives his prodigal son much needed advice before his last stand. To Stan Lee, stay glorious, you magnificent bastard.

Worst- 6. Mayday's Betrayal

Who knew someone so cute could be so deadly? This again was met with MUCH negativity when it first transpired. Some blamed Discord for getting in Mayday's ear. Others blamed Mayday herself, saying a ten year old should better. It's easy to forget how easily corrupted kids can be under the right/wrong influence. We had the MASTER manipulator in her ear, and Mayday may be highly intelligent but she's VERY dense. While she had no intention of killing her father, her actions had somewhat damaged her reputation as a character. However...

Best- 5. Mayday Parker Sparkle

Despite this setback, Mayday has become an IMMENSELY popular character in the series. She has her father's charm and quick wit, and she has her mother's drive and stubbornness. This makes for a unique character. By no means is she perfect, established by her rebellious nature and asexuality. However, she remains a kind-hearted and likable individual. Here's to Mayday's continued growth.

Worst- 4. Background Characters and the Marvel Universe

Characters that WERE established have faded to the background. The Mane 5 and Spike were primary players in Part I. People wanted characters from the Marvel Universe to be allies. However, many weren't happy with my decision to keep the story centered around Spider-Man. The whole point of the first story was about Peter leaving his old life behind and embracing Equestria. Yet, this still bothers people to this day. They wanted Wolverine, Human Torch, Thor, and others to join Peter in Equestria. Sadly, that wasn't to be. This was a Spider-Man/MLP crossover. Now, I'm apparently biased as a result.

Which brings me to a second point. The other MLP characters. The story is centered primarily around Peter, Twilight, Trixie, Luna, and Mayday. However, many characters have come and gone into obscurity. The Mane 5 are background characters, and a few others have faded into the distance. Only a handful have remained relevant and in the spotlight. This was done by design, but it does bother some people. Hopefully, with the Equestrian Avengers, this will help silence THOSE critics.

Best- 3. Trixie (Mysterio): Best Supporting Character! - "Was there every any doubt?"

No doubt, a character that everyone HATED at her initial debut, but now, she has become the series' best supporting character. While Trixie is popular within the fandom, she has really stolen the hearts of the readers of the Spiders and Magic series. She went from being a pompous and arrogant stuck-up and developed into a lovable yet dry and cynical big sister figure. Trixie is the ONLY character outside of Peter, who has had a pivotal role in all four stories. This shows how versatile and developed her character has become.

Let's continue to watch Peter Parker's best friend, Trixie (Mysterio) thrive and wow the audience in the upcoming Avengers saga.

Worst- 2. Peter's Parker Guilt Complex (Part I) - "My life and everything in it sucks."

Geez. We get it. Your uncle's dead. Your ex-girlfriend's dead. People hate you, and a bunch of others want you dead. You don't have to be such an angsty teen about it.

In all seriousness, I OVERPLAYED Peter's guilt in Part I. He was constantly crying and moaning about how his life sucked. I know it's part of his character, but I laid it on VERY thick in Part I. Looking back and reading through Part I again, I was ANNOYED by ch.30. By then, he cried and moped about his past so much. I was EXHAUSTED. Now I understood where ChangelingNumber32 was coming from. Fortunately, Peter's come a LONG way since then (as talked about on the Best #11).

Best- 1. The Parker/Sparkle Dynamic

No question. This is something the readers have praised over the course of the series. The dork and the nerd. The bookworm and the scientist. The hero and the princess. The funny one and the straightman. The Spider-Man and the Amethyst Sorceress. Peter Parker and Twilight Sparkle.

There are many reasons people like the pairing. These two have a lot in common, but there's enough key differences between them to give the relationship a spark. Peter helps Twilight lighten up her mood. Twilight keeps Peter's high-energy grounded. Both are highly intelligent in their respective fields, but they're both surprisingly dense. They're VERY balanced.

This couple has been the center focus of the entire series, and it's remained the strongest point. We've watch Peter AND Twilight grow from eager teenagers to mature adults. And bonus! No Mephisto to screw it all up!

-

I'd like to give thanks to everyone for supporting this series. While the Spiders and Magic has concluded, we're looking forward to giving the Equestrian Avengers series our all. With our present knowledge, we hope to surpass Spiders and Magic one day, and we hope you're all here with us through the ride.

Peter Parker and Twilight Sparkle look forward to seeing you again!

Sounds about right to me. The series has come a long way and I'm glad that I was able to lend a hand! I have no doubt that things will get better from here on out. :moustache:

4372466 Thanks, mate. I have your nitpicking and criticism to thank as well. You spoke honestly and kindly. That helped immensely and I always gave it all for YOU , especially. My favorite critic turned friend.

Lastly. how's Order-Spider? Is that a step-up from Spider-Mane? :rainbowwild: Or equally as bad? :rainbowlaugh:

One of the best things about fan fiction is that it's up to the writer to determine how a character develops without going by canon and finding ways to make it work. This series is a good example for Spider-Man and especially Twilight Sparkle. We see the two of them mature in a way that will never happen canonically, Peter gets to become a family man and a famous hero while Twilight finds her true love and settles down.

This series had a few rough spots with certain ideas, mainly supporting cast and harem it seems, but at the end of the day this is what I consider crossover fanfiction done right. It takes something ridiculous like Spider-Man and MLP together and made it work (Heck, this is what convinced me to watch MLP in the first place). It's well written and everyone's in character, which is important for any crossover. Trixie and Mayday are best ponies now, by the way. And Stan Lee is still best cameo. :twilightsheepish:

Also, I didn't think you'd actually go back and check Part I. At least this story moved on from mopey Peter.

Here's to Equestrian Avengers and the Shattered Dimensions! I know it's gonna be good and I'm sticking by till the very end. :pinkiehappy: and thank you for continuing the Spider-ride!

Cool list, now for my input on each one.

11) Yes, it's nice to see Peter's character growth throughout. He didn't change too much that he seems completely different, but I do see some maturity from him and how his character arc grows. It was refreshing to see him in some instances where he was actually a little more confident in himself without being too overconfident.

10) I don't totally dislike his herd, it can get a little annoying at times but it is what makes him Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Maybe because he takes away from the other colts in Equestria, but we know that in the end, Peter only loves Twilight. But honestly, considering all he's gone through, maybe he deserves to be surrounded by beautiful mares all to himself.

9) Huh, so that was a big deal? Honestly I forgot about it a little, not totally but it didn't stand out that much to me. Not to say the line wasn't funny to read and a bit satisfying at the time.

8) I didn't like this at first honestly, it bugged me because I was totally for Peter and Twilight, seeing him with Sweetie Belle seemed weird since he goes from seeing her as a nice and sweet little girl, to being this older flirty mare (though maybe not too OOC for Sweetie Belle considering who her sister is). Even now it's weird to think about, but it was great for story telling. Also since Peter told Twilight I was a bit more relieved, I just wish I could have seen how she would have reacted to Sweetie Belle if given the chance, or at least seen Peter react to his present timeline Sweetie Belle.

7) This was requested? Now I feel bad for not liking it. But great that you did it, made a lot happy.

6) This was a shock and a little odd but I understand why it happened. I don't dislike it much, she was just being a little naïve.

5) Never thought I'd actually like Mayday. Normally I don't like OCs (though that might only partially describe Mayday) but Mayday has really become so likable and a refreshing character to see. It unfortunately got to a point where I liked the idea of her in a pairing, but that can be left to personal canon and not main canon, she doesn't need romance to be interesting (A lesson I recently learned.) She has a great character, easily able to tell that she's the daughter of Peter and Twilight, plus she added a lot to the story as time went on. I enjoy seeing characters grow, especially from a young age, whether it's Gohan from Dragon Ball or Konohamaru from Naruto. Mayday has a lot of potential, and I look forward to seeing her grow in Equestrian Avengers.

4) It did bug me a little for both. When it comes to Marvel, yes I would have liked to see Peter's allies more but this is his story, so it can't be helped. He's an interesting enough character at least so that Marvel isn't needed, just a little extra, a bonus. Personally I only wish that Johnny Storm were part of this, even in a brief cameo. Not just to be paired with Rainbow Dash (whether she's paired with another character or stays single doesn't matter to me really), but deep down, just so that he could in this timeline at least, tell Peter how much he respects him, interact a little with Twilight, and a cute 'Uncle Johnny' moment from Mayday. But if it never happens, no big deal.

As for the background characters, I did once compare them to Yamcha, not that they're weak, just that they became a little useless or at least not as important. But that was a silly thing to say, they had their moment, they still have a few, but having so many characters probably isn't the best idea. Plus at least Equestrian Avengers will feature more of a cast, with extra MLP characters and a Marvel character. I can't say I'm that interested in Ember or Umbra like I am with Laura, but I did once think the same way with Sunset Shimmer and The Dazzlings, that changed a lot, I enjoyed them very much. Eris...she still needs time for me, but I don't totally dislike her.

3) Trixie, at first I didn't care for her. Mainly because at a time I only cared about Trixie if Lightning Dust was there (Why, I don't really know or remember, probably because they're an OTP of mine). But now I just like seeing Trixie in this, she really adds a lot to the story and went through a big change herself, some of the best character development.

2) Yeah, the guilt complex was a bit much at times, but it is in character for him. What's important is that he got past it at least, it at least shows how much he's grown since then.

1) Yes, one of the biggest things about Spiders and Magic is Parker-Sparkle. Funny, until this story, I was struggling to find a decent pairing for Twilight (at the time I had all her friends paired with Sonic characters and felt bad that I couldn't think of one for Twilight), I switched around a bit until I discovered this pairing (and totally ditched the Sonic pairings, I don't even care for them any longer). Also funny because at a time, I didn't even care to pair Spider-Man with anyone, I just liked the character, didn't care for the romance. Also funny since I don't care for their 'canon' pairings (Flash Sentry and Mary-Jane), so when I first saw this I did get intrigued. I almost didn't care for Peter being a Pony, or Twilight eventually becoming a human, (I never liked Equestria Girls honestly), but it worked for me. I don't know how, despite how I previously felt about certain things, I just liked the pairing. Granted reading the first story, I did get confused because it seemed like he could have gone with Rainbow Dash (Kinda hoped for it a little), or Luna (Really didn't want that to happen though), but he went for Twilight, and I loved how it happened. Even if the way the build up wasn't the best (though I personally didn't mind it), I still loved the moment Twilight kissed Peter. That is arguably for me one of my favorite moments in Spiders and Magic.

Little surprised Luna hasn't been mentioned on this list at all, at least not in a major way. Even if I don't totally like her (Yet I still partially want her to be in a herd with Peter, mainly out of pity for her), I figured she would have something big here.

Still, great list and great observations.

Worst 4 is actually what's making me very hesitant to jump into this series. I found out about it while searching for Sunset crossover fics (surprising few high rated full crossovers), and after reading the tv tropes page for the first fic (this series is a little too big for me to jump into blind), and peaking into the later chapters, I loved some of the things you did with her and the other characters. Then, her last scene seemed to start up a whole new story for her, and she wasn't in any of the character tags after. In fact, it seemed like all the characters she was teamed up with (besides the mains) disappeared. All of them and their interesting dynamics, gone. It makes me hesitant to truly start (well, that and the harem/moping). It almost seems like you should open this universe up to other writers so that they can expand the parts you don't want to focus on, though managing their work plus your own would probably be hell. Still, it would be interesting to see this turn into it's own multi-writer universe. Unless it already is open, in which case I don't get why people would mark it as one of the worst things about this series.

My only real disappointment about Mayday is that it seems she's probably not going to become a ponified version of Spider-Girl in this universe...

4372507 She's more or less the Oracle of the group. So no Spider-Girl, sadly.

4372504 Thing with Shimmer is that she's a major player in part I and IV. Still, I'd say #4 is viable because of how often people begged for a Marvel character to appear despite how shut and closed Part I ended Peter's time on Earth. I dunno. Can't please everyone. :facehoof:

4372502 Made an edit. Added Luna. XD

Wait so an actual harem or just many close female characters like a harem anime?

Also 'asexuality'?

She's like 14.

4372563 Many close female characters like a harem anime, really.

And well, while Mayday was 10 at the beginning of Part IV, she's 24 at the end of the series and the start of Equestrian Avengers.

Yeah, this all sounds about right. The Spiders and Magic series had it's highs and lows, but the stories were enjoyable to read nonetheless.

13 &12. Yeah, Luna was one of my favourites in the series, I find the chemistry between her and Peter both cute and amusing. I pitied Luna for missing her chance when Twilight told Peter her feelings first, but I was alright with them remaining just friends. The What-If story was a big fanservice.

11. Yep! It's nice of Peter to get a better chance in life and a happy ending he deserves than his 616 had and that we have no One More Day to screw this up.
Also, Order-Spider? Frankly, I've gotten so used to calling this Peter in pony form Spider-Mane, the Avenging Spider-Mane in his FF suit, and I would feel strange if I called him by a new name (I mean seriously, I actually like the name). Though I think a joke could come out of that, like say people keep calling him Spider-Mane regardless of Peter's say that he isn't called that anymore, but then he's like "Screw it! You can call me whatever you want".

10. Yeah... the harem can be a bit much. It's alright as a comic relief.

9. "Jameson. You're fired!" Nuff said.

8. I didn't react negatively to this twist. Peter was at his lowest point at Part III and Sweetie was only trying to ease his guilt. Even so, Peter had been thinking about Twilight the entire time.

7. EXCELSIOR!!!

6. Like I said before, not necessarily a terrible choice to further her character development. But my reaction to Mayday's choice in stabbing her father made me shocked and angry. But...

5. Mayday had indeed grown into a much likeable character and she really does have this distinction that separates her from her MC2 counterpart (the latter who follows in her father's footsteps and the former who does not, at least not now as far as we know).

4. I admit, it was hard for me to see Peter have to leave his world and his Marvel friends behind forever and move on with his life in Equestria. But I accepted that. After all, this is a Spider-Man/MLP crossover fic. If I would want to see the Marvel heroes, and even some old faces of Peter life on Earth like Harry and Mary Jane come back. I would only want it to make sense and not screw up the timeline continuity (which the time on Earth flows faster on Equestria makes it difficult to find some loop holes).

3. This version of Trixie, aka The Great and Powerful MYSTERIO, is by far my favourite. I like how this series has redeemed her character and have her fill the best friend role for Peter.

2.

"My life and everything in it sucks."

:flutterrage: Alright! We get it already! Ben's dead! Gwen's dead! GET OVER IT!!!
img12.deviantart.net/1001/i/2017/005/2/e/spidey_gets_bat_slapped__by_edcom02-dauazrj.jpg

1. The ParkerSparkle ship is definitely the highlight of the Spiders and Magic series. They just have so much in common and they have sure grown mature over the course of the series.

Here's hoping the Equestrian Avengers does better and learn from both the good and the bad.

Until next time. Spider-Man and twilight sparkle will return

4372521
XD, it makes sense. Luna's important to Spiders and Magic. One last input.

I didn't like Luna much at first, its mostly her character, I never understood her appeal for a while. In fact, reading the first story, she was the only one I didn't want Peter to end up with, instead hoping for either Rainbow Dash, Applejack or Twilight. As I read on I slowly started to appreciate her but I also grew a bit tired of her constant sorrow over not having gotten Peter. It bugged me a bit more knowing that he would eventually have a daughter, though that could be said for all the girls who seem to like Peter. Gwen is the only one that actually bonded with Mayday at least. Even when she got her own story with Peter, I still didn't care much for her, despite her interactions with Peter being entertaining. I guess I was just more sad for Twilight than happy for Luna, but then again I could just read the main Spiders and Magic, Lunar Spider has it's own love too, that should be respected.

However, I did pity her a little bit. She's just a lonely mare who needs friendship, and she's not good with losing out on love. I will give her credit, unlike Twilight in the Lunar Spider world, Luna at least handled her rejection a tad bit better (despite a mishap or two). Also like Peter, Luna does have her own guilt complex as seen in both main canons of Spider-Man comics and the My Little Pony show. When she got her herd, I admit I wasn't too happy since I didn't feel like it was earned that much, she messed up quite a lot. Over time I started to get used to the idea, maybe it wouldn't have been too bad. It would have been curious to see how that would have gone, how Peter would handle having another mare to love, how Twilight would handle sharing her husband, how Mayday would handle the idea of a second mom, and how Celestia would have reacted to seeing what her sister did. I was a little bummed that the herd was scrapped but maybe it was better to leave it as Peter and Twilight, they're the main couple of the stories. I'm fine either way, but it's weird that I prefer Luna in Peter and Twilight's herd over Luna having Peter to herself.

Luna is quite the pony though, she did help make Spiders and Magic as interesting as it is.

4372566 You mean there's a plot story about her discovering she's asexual?

4373040 Well, it's hinted at in the Epilogue of Fall of Spider-Mane.

When I said you were biased, I was referring to a conversation you had with Masterob in regards to Johnny Storm! This is why I tend to stay quiet about such things: my teasing gets taken seriously. :unsuresweetie:

4373484 I apologize for taking your comment out of context. You just now replied to the comment and I could only make assumptions in the meantime.

Wait. I'm biased towards Johnny Storm? How? Because I didn't include or referred him in the series? I mainly didn't include him because at the time Peter was pulled out of Earth, he and Johnny weren't close at all, still rivals.

But meh. It's no prob. Sorry again for the misunderstanding.

Azu

4373857 4373061

This is hinted at a few times, actually.

In part four's epilogue:

“Whatever,” Trixie scoffed under her breath, waving a hoof dismissively before clearing her throat. “Anyway, I almost hope that’s the case with Benjamin. Heaven forbid if he’s as reclusive as Mayday. The only stallion that mare seems to like is her own father, and her interests only seem reserved for her techno babble. Even though she’s only twenty-four, it’s pretty evident that you won’t be expecting children from her at all. She’s shown no physical or emotional attraction whatsoever to anything with a pulse. If it doesn’t beep, buzz, or hum, it’s clearly not her type.”

Peter exhaled, shaking his head. “I have the best friends. One’s snide and practical, and the other is free-spirited and mildly insane. Then, there’s Sonata, who is blissfully unaware of everything and has the appetite of a garbage disposal. Not to mention Luna, who is overly professional and blunt. Plus, there’s Mayday, who might just be a robot in mare’s clothing, and the other two...”

in Laura's oneshot, The Second Best There Is:

As if the entire world’s weight had been lifted from her shoulders, Mayday happily squeaked a response. “You know me too well!” She hopped into Peter’s hooves once more, wrapping her limbs around the stallion’s neck lovingly. They eventually parted, only for Mayday to kiss her father’s cheeks repeatedly. “Thank you so much, Dad! I’ll do my best!”

Peter chuckled sheepishly, feeling the temperature in his face rise. “I’m still the only dude you’re willing to kiss. I’m okay with that. Less stallions I have to chase off… or mares, if you were into that.”

Mayday puffed her cheeks into a forced pout and shot her father a huff. “Dad! You’re ruining the moment!”

I believe something along the lines is also mentioned within part four, as well as Mayday's disinterest in making friends. To which she quite likely made none during her time away for school. If anything, she was probably more annoyed or just went along with it when forced to work with others on things such as group assignments and projects. Outside of that, only interacting with others when it was convenient or required.

Other ponies simply don't interest her. She doesn't crave, seek, or even need to make social and emotional attachments that most normal people or ponies would. What very little social interest she does require is met from her interaction with her family.

It's easy to joke that when it comes to social and emotional aspects of her personality, Mayday is essentially a robot.

4373792 it wasn't that you excluded him. Like I said, it was during a conversation with Masterob, not in the storyline that unfolded here. I was under the impression that you didn't like him at all. I'll chalk this up to a misunderstanding. Sorry.

I never had a problem with Peter's guilt complex and Mayday's betrayal and attitude towards Celestia slacked off immensely after the end came. I actually can identify with her as she didn't fully understand the gravity of the situation, or how things would play out. Sad to see my princess go, but she proved to be a loving ruler to her subjects. As for Peter, fluttershy's similar with her anxiety: one step forward and a jump backwards. But let's see anyone else suffer what he did and try not to struggle with such a thing.

I'd still like to see Peter to be greatly admired by everyone, just not lusted after so much. That can still be there, just as long as he drills the point that he's happily married. Let's keep the naughty stuff in the art and between him and Twi. It's more fun there.

Like I said (and you said) Pete needed to break away from the others in order to grow. And since this is SPIDERS and Magic, it's understandable that it features those two more than the others.

4374064 I thought Peter drilled it home pretty frequently that he was a one-mare guy. I mean, Gwen liked him because of their shared history. Felicia has always liked him, even in marriage. Eris is just a troll, getting a reaction from both Peter and Twilight. Plus, opposites attract, and that's blatantly clear in Order to Chaos. Luna quietly obsessed over him but kept to herself. Patricia, like Eris, was just trolling (I think). Trixie is the best friend, who isn't sexually interested in Peter in the slightest.

Outside of that, Peter constantly made it clear that he was happily married. This is why Nightmare was forced to shut him down with the whole Sweetie Belle thing (because he was TOO faithful to Twilight).

...now in terms of the NSFW art, we BOTH know Peter's fair game there. :trollestia:

4373923 Sounds like a crap character really. I understand not wanting that much contact with other people, but wow imaging having her as a daughter. I'd take her to a therapist to get checked out. I'd want a new one.

Asexuals can make friends. It's anything physical they don't want.

This...I don't think I want to read this story at all now.

4374298 I think Azu went too deeply about it and said it poorly. He's not good with his words at times. What I think he MEANT to say was that Mayday isn't the most social individual, asexual or not. Even as a kid, she wasn't the friendliest individual. I mean, heck, she butted heads with her cousin for the tiniest reason. But everyone's different, and we all have our quirks. But I WILL say this to you.

I understand not wanting that much contact with other people, but wow imaging having her as a daughter. I'd take her to a therapist to get checked out. I'd want a new one.

...you'd make a terrible parent. We love our kids regardless of their choices. If my kid doesn't want to be social, that's their choice. I'd help, but if they're a functional adult, that's their choice. It just sounds like you want your kid to be perfect and something small is a turn off. If my kid was gay, bisexual, straight, or asexual, I'd support their choice regardless because my child's happiness comes first.

Stay or leave. That's your choice. But if you're leaving over ONE character's quirk, then maybe you should reevaluate things altogether.

4374512 ...nah. I know where my strengths and weaknesses of a person lie.

I know where they'd lie as a parent.

And I know I never really cared that much about this series all that much. The question is simply what's the point of adding it in.

4374553 Okay. Well, you're entitled to your opinion, and I respectfully disagree with your point of view. Even though you never cared for this series, I thank you for your time.

4374562 All right then. I stand by my words. Thank you again for your time. It's just meant to be a minor character quirk, but you took it completely negatively. It happens. No big deal.

4374565 My dislike comes from this existence of a quirk.

One thing I learned about life is when something adds in a sexuality (or something of that design) for no other reason it's best to leave the whole thing alone.

Too much focus on this is cancerous in my eyes.

4374572 It's not meant to be a big focus, dude. It's just a trait she happens to have. The fact that you've missed it several times means it's subtle and isn't overblown.

Stop over thinking it. Mayday's asexual, but she isn't screaming to the world. It's only cancerous if you're being beaten over the head with it... or if you over think it.

Mayday is simply a pony that's into her work and family. That's all it's meant to be. She just so happens to be asexual as well. That's all.

4374577 "Missed it"

...Implying I've even started to read any of the story.

4374585 Try not to be rude. I'm only making the assumption because you were in the blog which talks about the best and worst of the series, asking where were the hints regarding Mayday's sexuality.

If you're not a fan of the series, if I may be frank, why are you here in a BLOG talking about the series? I'm simply curious because you are proving to be quite unusual in your approach and output.

You seem interested yet you're apprehensive based off of something you here. You're judging a book by its cover without giving a chance. That's human nature, though.

In any case, try not to be rude while you're here. If you stay, great. If you don't, oh well. *shrug* I'm not holding against you regardless.

To answer your other quesiton, Mayday is ten throughout part IV and she's twenty-four during the epilogue, and it's ONLY during the epilogue that her sexuality is confirmed, through the subtle hints mentioned above.

4374590 It (well was) in my watch-later list.

4374592 All right then. See ya around.... or never. *shrug* You're not to first or last to come and go. I'll do what I can for those that stayed.

4374594 See ya...probably never again.

Oh. I get it. You're one of those people.

So let me get this straight. You come in, spout your opinion about a character you don't know, in a story you haven't even read?

By all accounts, don't let the door hit your ass on the way out.

4375306 I don't have to worry, my fine fat ass is used to having doors slammed on it. :pinkiecrazy:

I'm just used to running into them. They don't even bother letting me in in the first place. :pinkiecrazy:

As a fan of the series, this was a very impressive list! Seems as the longer you wrote for the series, the much more you learned.

13 & 12: Yeah I'll admit there will always be division over something like Luna being a love interest but getting denied.

11. This version of Peter Parker has some of the best development I've ever seen for Spidey. I think this is the best one we've gotten since Spectacular Spider-Man!

10. Ah yes... Chicks dig Peter... :rainbowlaugh: It's become a trope for him... :twilightblush: But at least he's married to Twilight now... :pinkiecrazy:

9. *insert Donald Trump saying "You're fired." here* :rainbowlaugh:

8. Well... His wife and daughter were dead... That's all I can say for that matter... :twilightsheepish:

7. You're doing a Marvel movie with using Stan Lee! lol

6. Tbh, Discord has always been and will always be a dick. :trixieshiftleft:

5. The bundle of joy for Spidey and Twi. As well as a joy for us to read! :pinkiehappy:

4. This is usually a problem in a lot of stories man...

3. One of my favorites from FiM, EQG, and this series! She even has great chemistry with Peter that I'm surprised to see some ship her with him! I MIGHT be surprised to see a what if she got with him instead of Luna or Twi getting with him! But still a great character! :rainbowlaugh: :pinkiehappy: :ajsmug:

2. Still better than Spider-Man 3 and the Amazing Spider-Man movies (though 1 was a lot better than 2....)...

1. Definitely the highlight of these stories. These two work greatly with each other.

Overall I look forward to what the future lies for you and your work man!
