Happy totally avarage Thursday! · 6:42pm Nov 24th, 2016

Actually, I fib. It's the not quite totally average Thursday before Black Friday.

...

Not going to lie: love the deals, but not sure how to feel about that the infection semi-holiday seems to have jumped the pond to Europe. The stores around here are pushing it to make more dough with the favor and zeal normally reserved for somebody who just got a note that the Russian mob's got a gun to the head of their gran-gran, and it's already getting rather tiresome.

Still, stay safe, and happy Thanksgiving to my American readers.

Oh, and speaking of deals: My brand-spanking new copies of The Aeronaut's Windlass, Welcome To The Jungle, The Last Unicorn, and Skulduggery Pleasant arrived today.

I've already 'read' The Last Unicorn once upon a time, but the audio-book was in pretty rough shape and Peter. S. Beagle is a far better author then voice-actor, so I'm still kinda excited to give it another go.

Still, slight hint I might disappear into the mists of time have a couple of new books to talk about in a bit. See you then. :raritywink:

If it makes you feel better it's worse for the Canadians. Our thanksgiving was last month and black friday is a thing here too.

I make it a point to tell any american that wishes me happy thanksgiving that they're a month late.

So, at least you don't have trampling deaths related to black Friday deals every year like we do?

Seriously though. The fact that that has happened every year for possibly decades is... just depressing.

Well, not yet at least. Small favors.

Although, I have heard that we Swedes are the dork dark masters of the art of the queue, and that we frequently worry mere mortal foreigners with our neat ünd tidy, line-standing ways.

Still, jokes aside, I think that cultural difference will... well, make a difference. You just don't see those 'human tsunamis' I've seen online here in Sweden when some place with a deal opens.
