IN WHICH I TRY TO LIFE
It finally cooled off yesterday, to the point where I had to wear a couple layers to go outside today. Now, I wasn't planning on going outside, but I figured I might want to hungry myself up for my solitary joyless supper. Also I ran out of things to do online and I thought it might help jog my brain so I can finish my latest story. Instead, I found myself walking around the park for an hour singing IZ's cover of "Coney Island Washboard Woman" to myself. Yeah, everyone knows him for his amazing ukulele rendition of "Over the Rainbow", but I enjoy several songs of his more.
On the anime front, lately I've been switching back and forth between Dirty Pair and R.O.D The TV; tonight it was the DP movie "Project Eden". After this, I may rewatch Ghost Hound, which I haven't seen since shortly after I bought it in 2010. Due to my being incredibly stingy with money for awhile, I haven't bought any anime since March, and then only a few odds & ends (School Days, which I enjoyed despite the hate it gets). Haven't bought any manga since then either, which is unfortunate because it means I'm behind on the few series I'm still collecting – most of the series I'd bought for years ended recently (Excel Saga, Oh My Goddess, Evangelion), are about to end (Yuki Nagato-chan, Genshiken2), or publish so rarely I forget about them (Berserk, Black Lagoon, Bride's Story).
This is my life without my partner, who lived with me for the past seven years. Christ, it gets boring and lonely.
On the writing front, I'm plodding along on the Flash Sentry story. But I continue to be amazed at how much of an asshole he can be. Well, it's not like Sunset Shimmer doesn't deserve it – by her own admission, she does. I've just about reached the point where he becomes marginally less of a jackass. I'm also amused by Rarity's actions – she's getting super-protective of Sunset. I'm still not gonna ship them. With any luck, the story may be completed within the next couple days. I can't say it's any good, but it needed to be told as part of Sunset's recovery.
