Happy Birthday! · 8:33pm Oct 5th, 2016
It is officially the second anniversary of A Scratch On Shining Armor's Fimfiction debut!
I would love to post a new chapter today, but sadly it's a big one and it's not quite done yet. Vinyl and Glory finally meeting Lily is something I don't want to rush or ruin, so i'm shooting for a release date of this weekend. Speaking of this weekend, I also have some special things planned to come out as well with the help of some friends.
Now onto the reason I'm writing this today.
A Scratch On Shining Armor is my most popular story, along with the one I'm most proud of in a narrative sense. I know I've made decisions that aren't popular with some readers, and I know I might make more by the time it's over. But I hope the majority of my readers at least enjoy the story once it's done.
I want to say thank you to all of you who have been with this story for a long time. I want to say thank you to all of you who have stuck around through my long absences. Most importantly, I want to say thank you to everyone who has given this story a chance. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Now, I suppose I'm here to talk about the story as a whole. Let's talk about the future, huh?
I know I said this about ten chapters ago, but I truly felt like there are a lot less than ten chapters left in this tale. Two chapters left in the Lily 'arc' and then we get to head back to Canterlot for a bit of world shaking. After that, well there's an ending to get to. Something very important to be sure.
What exactly that ending is, well that's a more difficult question to answer. I'm not entirely sure, I have a few in mind and they all could work wonderfully. As I've told those closer to me 'We'll burn that bridge when we're crossing it.' Please do not take that as a sign that I don't care about this story, or that I don't think the ending matters. It does matter, and each of my options can work so I don't know which one to choose until that moment arrives.
Thank you all for sticking around and thank you for your continued support.
And of course, a very special thank you to my editor, Shrink Laureate, who has put up with my inane ramblings at ridiculous hours for close to a year. Thanks to my friend Mytho for providing the cover art, twice. Thanks to my friends Goober Trooper and Lightning Rabbit for reading this story and giving me advice when I needed it.
Most importantly, thank you to my boyfriend and best friend in the world, Firebolt, for listening to me when I needed it most. For helping me collect my thoughts in the most personal bits of this story.
