Kansas City, I love you. · 12:15am February 15th
Today was supposed to be a great day. A day of celebration. The Chiefs just won their 3rd Super Bowl in 5 years and are gunning for a threepeat. It’s supposed to be a fantastic day. Kids were off of school to celebrate their team.
It breaks my heart. Another mass shooting. 11 kids in the hospital, 9 with gunshot wounds. 22 injured in total.
I love my city. We’re so much better than this. Brave citizens tackled one of the shooters when he was trying to get away. That’s who we are.
We’re strong. We’ll come back from this and we’ll rally like we always do. That doesn’t make it hurt any less.
My little sister was at the parade. She’s okay, but she said they decided at the last moment not to go to Union Station. They would’ve been right by the area where the shooting happened.
She’s safe. Thank god.
I’m just heartbroken.

I'm glad your sister is safe. I can't even imagine... The people who tackled the shooter are absolutely heroes.
And I believe the other got capped by a different Chief's fan. This world is going crazy, but we still have light alive in it.
