Possible Idea for Future Story · 6:18am Sep 28th, 2016
What's up everypony?
Lately, I've been having this idea for a new HiE story involving a Queen going to Equestria. The largest Queen ever!
RMS Queen Mary 2!
So here's what I had in mind.
The story begins as QM2 is about to depart Southampton on a routine voyage to New York. But before she is ready to depart, a problem arises with two of her propulsion pods. Attempts at repairing them while in port prove useless and she now must be towed to the Blohm & Voss shipyard in Hamburg, Germany for repairs. With pressure to get her back into service as quickly as possible, she departs Southampton under tow with severe weather in the forecast for the afternoon.
At first, things are going smoothly for the small crew who are on board. But as the ship enters the English Channel, the severe weather strikes. The wind and waves put immense strain on the tow wires as the near 150,000 ton liner is maneuvering violently without the help of her two remaining engines. With the threat of the tow wires snapping and the tugs being damaged by the large waves, the tow is brought to a halt and all except for a couple of volunteers, QM2's First Officer and a crew member of one of the tugs, evacuate onto the tugs and head back to land, leaving the liner to ride out the storm.
But the next day, the two who elected to stay behind find themselves in calm water with no land in sight. Communication attempts fail despite the equipment functioning properly. Guessing that they can't be too far from the coast of England, the decision is made to bring the ship around to the west and use her two undamaged engines in an effort to try and figure out where they are.
Meanwhile, Twilight and her friends are enjoying a nice sailing trip on board the royal clipper, Solar Wind. Everything is going nicely until they spot something that they've never seen before. A vessel larger than any ship in all of Equestria moving through the waters at a low speed. Wanting to get a closer look, Rainbow Dash, Twilight, and Starlight Glimmer go out and investigate.
What will happen when these three ponies board this massive ship? And how will the two humans on board react when they discover that they're not where they think they are?
So what do you guys think? Does it sound interesting?
