Second time this season the bootleg stream I use crashed my computer partway into the new episode. I will have to wait until morning to catch the rest of it on Amazon. Damnit. I'm going to have to avoid half my follows until morning unless I want to be spoiled, or track down a youtube bootleg.

I could work on that next chapter, but I'm not feeling the next move at the moment. This morning's chapter was a bit "go get a beer". I can't find where I read this, but I think it was one of the Corner smartasses who offered some writing advice I remember as "be careful of 'go get a beer' lines". These are such profound, isolated bits of rhetoric that one feels compelled to drop the piece, go off stroking your beard to the icebox, and get yourself a beer. It's usually a sign you've derailed yourself, and you need to get back on track.

I have a couple plot points I now need to hit before I can break my characters free of their pocket war, and get things on the road. It's fine if they spend a while doing slice of garrison life in winter quarters, but I have a necessarily impatient mystery pony who needs to be sent off in style if not satisfied, and some rebels to make an escape. All that means there's a clock ticking, and a set piece that I need to get us into.

The problem is that I want my narrator on site for the action, but he isn't an action hero - not yet - and this is going to be a kind of Where Griffins Dare deal. How would that movie have played if Clint Eastwood and Richard Burton were dragging a David Niven doctor character through all the big action scenes?

I've used bronytv.net. Failing that, there's usually a copy on Youtube within a few hours.
