The Lost Element: Volume 1 · 6:01am Sep 9th, 2016
It's done. Had quite a learning curve, but I finally got the hang of Lulu's interface to do my best to make for the best quality possible for these books. Illustrations are still out of the question due to having color publications jacking up the cost into the 70s and black & white illustrations just feel wasted while some you can barely make out what's going on in them. However, I am delighted to see that the font changes turned out well for when different characters write the chapters, although there is a small spacing issue I could not fix between two of the chapters in the second book. It should not be too much of a distraction.
Took a long time, but I'm glad to finally have this done for all of you. To everyone who I never got back to regarding preorders, my sincerest apologies. I just wanted to make certain whether or not such things were necessary. All books are made to order, so preorders are completely unnecessary. You just purchase and they'll be on their way to your mailbox like any online purchase. To everyone who has been following me so far, thank you. I hope this was worth the wait. I will provide the links to each half of the volume below
For anyone checking them out, don't forget the current discount code for 15% off! SEPTLULU15
Thank you! I'll share this with the Pony Print Project as well!
Very noice! I'll pick this up when I get off work.
Is volume 2 supposed to have no cover illustration though?
4201221 It has a generic cover, but it does have its own back cover. When the two halves are put together, only the illustrated covers will be shown. The beginning and end, so to say.
4201242 Ah, I guess that makes sense. Figured it was probably something like that, since you ended up splitting the volume in harf. Order placed!
If we use the discount code, does that mean you get paid less? Or are you receiving any percentage for what gets printed?

4201683 no idea, but I'm not in this for the money. Do what you will. I'm not making much anyway. Less than $2 a book.
4201688 Screw the discount! I'm not taking any chances. TAKE MY MMMOOONNNEEEYYY!!!

4201688 Wait. If we pay with debit, do you still get paid? Or just through PayPal?

4201786 I paid for the proof copy with my card/bank account. Just use whichever method you prefer.
4202031 Cool. I bought both volumes.

My heartiest congratulations,Humanity!
shame they are not in hardback.
i bought volume one and its a very good book and i have two problems, there are no page numbers and no proper chapter titles and some chapter titles are missing
4232657 There's really nothing I can do about the page numbers. The text is restricted to a specific part of the page, so I can't place the numbers in the corners. Rather surprising that they aren't automatically numbered during the printing process. Sort of a no brainer, don't you think? As for titles, I'm pretty sure I put them at the top of each chapter. Did I miss any?
4245750 i found one chapter twelve, Tainted Memories, in The Lost Element Vol 1: A Newcomer in Equestria Part 2
4246115 I'll be sure to fix that. Thank you.
4246207 happy to help. I will PM you if i find more.
4246214 The strange thing is when viewing it through a word processor and the preview of the book itself, the title's placement is normal in spite of it being on two different lines in the book itself. I tried adding or taking away a single space to see if that will help, but I'm afraid this may be a problem I cannot fix.
4249009 thats ok, it might just be a printing error for my book, but i dont know
4249030 It was a printing error in my proof copy as well, so I know what you're talking about. I hope this little tweak fixed it.
4249049 i hope it does to and i like the font changes you did for when the writer changes
