A British Gentleman

I am a fan of many things, particularly the fine works of Sir Terry Pratchett (may he rest in peace). After spending a long time lurking, I have elected to create an account.

    Too Funny Not to Share

Good evening, my fine ladies and gentlemen. I may be a touch late with this, but I feel it's too good to pass up on. Behold, fanfic, as written by predictive text:

    [Non Pony] Purest Snake Oil

Good evening, my good ladies and gentlemen. I hope to find you alive, well and, preferably, tipsy.

A video recently dropped on YouTube, concerning the vexing topic of Anti-Vaxxers. Some of it, however, featured a firm called Coseva. A seller of outrageously overpriced snake oil, it's claims about its products are mindbogglingly stupid and wrong.

I Really Hope That This Guy is a Troll

Good morning, my good ladies and gentlemen, and a Merry Christmas to all.

I'm hoping that the guy I'm about to show you is a troll, but, having looked at his posting history, there's a very real chance he's the real deal. If so, I present to you the least self-aware arsehole on the internet. As you read that statement, consider the state of the competition...

[Non-Pony] CERN Controversy: An Impartial Scientist's Perspective

Greetings my good ladies and gentlemen. I hope to find you well.

For the benefit of anyone who hasn't been following the news on the matter, an Italian physics professor, Alessandro Strumia, was invited to participate in a workshop on gender in physics by Cern, with an audience largely composed of young, early career (Ph.D students and Postdocs) female physicists.

Warning! Spoiler! · 3:52pm Sep 3rd, 2016

Greetings my good ladies and gentlemen. Consider this a public service announcement, concerning today's episode.

Essentially, there has been a major spoiler leaked concerning today's episode, and it's such a big spoiler that even Equestria Daily are being relatively careful about it. My advice therefore is this: don't go on ED, particularly the comments sections (and be careful of this site as well), until you have seen the episode.

Remember: there are people who will spoil shamelessly and unapologetically. Don't give them any more opportunities than necessary.

Take care, my good ladies and gentlemen.

Considering the episode, I'm not sure what would even qualify as a massive spoiler about it. :applejackunsure:

Not sure myself; I have yet to see the episode and I don't know the spoiler. All I know is that it exists and ED made an effort to not give it away. Given their track record, that suggested something important, so I posted this warning.

If I'm wrong, then I apologise :twilightblush:

Eh, better safe than sorry.

Having seen the episode and having looked through Equestria Daily's site to see what the heck the big deal was... Well in my opinion it seems a case of much ado about nothing.

That said, like FanOfMostEverything said, better safe than sorry.

Yeah, looks like it. Oh well, never mind. My point still stands about spoilers, though.

Indeed. One should always be careful when talking about new episodes.

Huh. I thought it was just their regular preview, and that it arrived late. They put it under a break. But here there were a bunch of open spoilers and it was a pain.

EQD does have tons of spoilers one way and another, so best to avoid it if that matters. FimFiction is not EQD, and people don't seem to know how to name threads or use breaks appropriately.

Slight brain fart on my part, this. They put a spoiler link in their description of the streams thread, which lead me to believe that there was a big spoiler.

The reason I felt this is that ED is, to put it mildly, lackadaisical about spoilers (I haven't forgotten or forgiven them spoiling Tirek and Twilight's library getting blown up back in season four). This lead me to believe that it was something important, so I gave the warning.

Following up after the episode, it turned out to be nothing much of anything, really.

Still, as has been said, better safe than sorry

Got me all hyped for nothing.

Good episode though. That was some pretty solid writing by this season's standards. And apparently by a newbie as well. Jennifer Skelly. I have high hopes for her if she continues as a regular on this series.
