    My Sister’s Pet Rabbit Passed Away…

    Just last night, my sister’s beloved pet rabbit passed away. Unfortunately, he had what I can best describe (which shouldn’t be taken so literally) as a tumor forming in his throat that increased his blood pressure. He took medication for it for a few months, and according to my sister, when she checked on him last night, he was breathing harder than usual and he felt a little cold. She figured

    A Devastating Day for me...

    I'm sure you're aware by now of the tragic passing of Stan Lee, the creator of many of our favorite Marvel superheroes...

    It was sad for me, but right now I'm going through something more heartbreaking...

    My Family Dog, Rex, is currently dying, after being on this Earth for 18 years, we had him for 16 of them. We heard from the vet he might not last the week, or even tonight.

Pokémon International Championships Rules and Regulations... · 8:15am Aug 23rd, 2016

I need your help with coming up with a plausible list of rules and restrictions for the International Championships in my story: Pokémon - The Equestrian Chronicles...

The main reason why, is because I want a sense of realism that adds some reasonable backbone to the world I am trying to create with it. I imagine in our world if such a tournament existed along with Pokémon, I have no doubt there would be some serious rules laid down that separated the amateurs from the professionals, and maybe discourage some because they would be more dangerous than most other tournaments...

Below is the unfinished list of rules for the International Championships I have frequently mentioned in my story, feel free to suggest anything so long as it follows this guideline of realism...

The International Championships are the crème-del-la-crème of all Pokémon competitions, and are also the most demanding on the trainer's part under the fact it's also labelled as the most dangerous of the tournaments...

====================================

The International Championship Rules & Regulations

The Requirements;
1.) To participate in the International Championships, one must...
-Enter a minimum of 40 species of Eligible Pokémon, of at least 10 different elemental Types...
-Win no less than two regional tournaments, fifteen officially-licensed local tournaments, or have made it to the preliminaries of and/or have won one national tournament...
-Be a Pokémon Trainer for no less than two years...
-Be the minimum age of at least fourteen years...
2.) Any Pokémon can be entered for the competition, but certain Pokémon cannot be used until either a P.L.F. Official decides the format, or when a certain placement of the tournament allows it to…

The Rules;
1.) One must be a fair sport whether you win or lose...
-(Filler)
2.) Trainers caught cheating WILL be disqualified for any of the following reasons...
-Purposefully aiming attacks at opposing trainers in efforts to disable them…
-Sabotaging matches to further your position in the competition…
-Lie on your registration form about your age, country of origin, Pokémon being used, and/or identity…
3.) Trainers may only use Pokémon that are registered in the most recent National Pokédex version…
-Regional variants of pre-existing Pokémon in the National Pokédex (i.e. Alolan Exceggutor), are allowed, but are preferred to be excluded depending on the limits set by the Pokémon League Federation’s Judges…
-

Battling Rules;
This is for the elimination process for chosen entrants to enter the Final Qualifying Tournament. Any battle format can and will be selected at a random pace for the sake of testing participants on different battling styles...
Little Cup Rules;
1.) Fully-Evolved Pokémon are banned from use...
-Only Pokémon that can still evolve are permitted…
Single Cup Rules;
1.) The standard three-verses-three battle rules are applied to this battle format, only one Pokémon is sent out at a time…
-(Filler)
Double Cup Rules;
1.) The standard four-verses-four battle rules are applied to this battle format, two Pokémon are sent out at the same time…
-(Filler)
Triple Cup Rules;
1.) The rules are similar to the Full-Battle format, with minor differences. Three Pokémon are sent out at the same time…
-(Filler)
Rotation Cup Rules;
1.) The rules are similar to both the Double Battle format of four Pokémon used, and the Triple Battle format of three Pokémon sent out at the same time…
-(Filler)
Tag-Team Cup Rules;
1.) Pokémon Trainers must team-up and cooperate satisfactorily to progress the internationals...
-(Filler)
Mega-Ban Cup Rules;
1.) Standard battles are fought using standard rules, but use of Mega Evolutions are restricted from battles under this format…
-(Filler)
Heracles Cup Rules;
1.)
-(Filler)
Flat-Battle Cup Rules;
1.) Legendary Pokémon are banned from use...
-(Filler)
Inverse Cup Rules;
1.) Single battles are fought under special conditions that reverse the Pokémon Type match-up…
-(Filler)
Sky Cup Rules;
1.)
-(Filler)
Battle-Royale Cup Rules; (To Be Validated: Late 2017)
1.) A four-person battle format in a free-for-all match…
-Trainers are allowed to use three Pokémon and can freely change Pokémon at any time…

Final Qualifying Rounds;
1.) The final qualifying rounds use a basic tournament style, elimination grid, used in various other tournaments held around the world. They follow in order, Elimination Rounds, Preliminary Rounds, Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals, Finals, and the Championship match…
-The Final Qualifying Rounds use any of the two-competitor battle rules (Single, Double, Triple, & Rotation) but the format will use predominantly the Single Battle format, using rules decided by Pokémon League Federation officials…
-The Elimination Rounds and Preliminary rounds use the standard three-verses-three Single Battle format (or four-verses-four Double Battle format), all Legendary and Mythical Pokémon are banned from use in these two rounds. The Preliminary Rounds may change from the standard format to the Full Battle Format under circumstances decided by League Officials. Use of Items is prohibited…
-The Quarter-Finals use the Full Battle format from then on, use of items are permitted, certain Legendary Pokémon are permitted for use while the use of Mythical Pokémon is prohibited, and the battle format from this point on will strictly be a Single Battle format along the Full Battle format…
-The Semi-Finals fully allow the use of all Pokémon, Legendary or not, provided they follow the guideline of usable Pokémon stated above in the Requirements…
-The Finals are to be fought in a six-on-six, single battle between the two finalists of the competition for a chance to fight the reigning World Champion for the title…
-The Championship Match will be a battle between the reigning World Champion and the victor of the Finals, with a battle format restricted to the default of the traditional six-on-six Single Battle, but the reigning World Champion can decide how many Pokémon both trainers will use for the title match…

This is a visual aide of the Final Qualifying Rounds grid...

Um, this sounds really cool and all, but you're missing some text for most of the list.

4166678 They're to be filled in or explained in further detail either by me, or by suggestions from other writers like you...

4167690 I was talking mainly about the Single, Double, Triple, and Rotation cups. Aren't you just using that battle format, or is it something different?

4167819 Well, yes, but also no...
Yes in the matter of it being the same as the games, but no in the sense of needing them translated into a real-world kind of vibe, like how would Triple and Rotation Battles be translated if they were prevalent in the anime. Mainly the physical rules for them...

But, your questions made me realize I missed two battle formats; Inverse and Sky Battles, so thank you for helping me remember them...

4167846 You're welcome, and good luck.:twilightsmile:
