Warning: Spoilers for season six episode seventeen
I have noted, my good ladies and gentlemen, that when an episode with a popular new character appears, the race is on to get out a story quickly and hit the feature box.
Said fics generally have very little regard for the idea that some people can't immediately watch the episode. I shall continue, with unavoidable spoilers, below the page break.
Shortly after the episode aired, the thoroughly predictable race to the feature box was won by this fic. Here is its description:
Thorax, the Changeling, is enjoying his time in the Crystal Empire after having been accepted by the ponies there. But, among all the smiles and welcoming greetings, there is one pony who has some rather pointed questions to ask.

Possible spoilers? Why thank you, my good Sir, for this critical advice. Now if you had only mentioned it before you spoiled the entire climix of the fucking episode, it might actually have been useful.
This might well be the most pointless, useless spoiler warning on site. If the author enjoyed a vindictive chuckle whilst typing it, I wouldn't be at all surprised.
Nor is this author alone in his bad netiquette. About a week before the episode aired, this group appeared, and soon found itself on the trending groups page.
The user who founded it has previous: he has a long track record of dropping spoilers right into people's feeds via new threads in groups. It's as if the whole concept of going into an episode unspoiled is alien to these people.
Don't be like these guys my good ladies and gentlemen. Mark your spoilers carefully, remember to consider other people when posting and, above all, think before you post.
Good manners are cheap, my good ladies and gentlemen, and they tend to reap their own rewards.
I don't think the issue is with people not realizing what they're doing. The issue is that they just don't give a shit, which is deplorable in its own right.

Quite. I have called out the user with the premature group on his behaviour before. He responded by whining that it was only info from trailers and everyone knows about it. So yeah, he has been flatly told about this before, but carries on regardless. "Just doesn't give a shit" is the only sensible conclusion.
I love how he says 'possible'. That's not 'possible', that's 'definite', and the warning doesn't even matter because he put it after the spoilers. How dense do you have to be to not notice either of those things?
I saw that. It truly ticked me off. And since he has a ton of followers, a story by him is guaranteed to land in the Feature Box and ruin all the things.

I didn't even bother to comment. With over fifteen hundred followers and two hundred plus stories, this is a person who should know better. As PegasusMesa said, he or she most likely just doesn't care.
I'm also surprised nobody's pointed out the typo in that long description. It's almost like somebody didn't care enough to proofread the story.

We need to petition Knighty to make a rule that anyone posting spoilers for recent episodes in their story descriptions get's a temporary ban or something.
